How do you guys mark your balls?

My markings change all the time. Different colours too cos i've got loads of sharpies. I use dots under the number , dots to the side of the number , lines or sometimes I just draw daft piccies on them. I pull a new ball out of the bag and just go with whatever I feel like scrawling down.

i try not too

scrubbing it off afterwards makes them sore :o

but seriously

each ball differently different colour different small pattern different place
if i mark all the same how do i know its not one i lost previously on the same hole

I have started colouring a triangle on the ball, a solid equilateral one about 12 mm length, on the green today I suddenly realised I could use it as an alignment marker, but then thought it may not be allowed so deliberately put the triangle under the ball. Is it allowed to be marked and used to help putting?

Marking on the ball for alignment is fine. Most balls come printed with an alignment arrow anyway! You can draw around the full equator of the ball if you really want.

Quite simple, when I want my balls marked I tell "She who shall be obeyed" I'll be playing 5 days this week. She then puts her shiney boots on and marks my balls for me. .

Seriously though, Colour the T in Taylormade red or a red O in Srixon.

Mine differs depending on how I'm feeling. I mark all of them when I get a new box though so I don't have to faff about on the course finding pens in my bag.

I use 3 different colours on each sleeve, so when I've done the box I have 12 completely different balls.

Last box got done with the different suits in a pack of cards. I was bored that night. Normally they just get dots, sometimes 1 under the name, sometimes 3 under the name, and sometimes 1 either side of the name.

Another green shamrock user. They are actually quite common.

I also put a green line around the circumference. This could be used for alignment, but I don't. It is mainly so I can see it is my ball from a distance without having to faff about rotating it to find a miniscule mark that may have worn off anyway.
