How did your golf go this weekend?

No game Saturday, work all day

But played Slaley Hall Priestman today with north east GM Forum lads, 35 points, couldn't buy a putt today, but NOWT unusual there.....!!
I got a record low score of 17 points, just nothing was working as it should even after 2 good rounds at Stocksfield. I couldn't hit irons, wedges or putt.

Still, I live to fight another day

Played in a texas Scramble today, everything going well except for the chipping - again. Off to dig out Bob's chipping tips video again.

One highlight was a birdie on our 5th par3 hole. 3 iron 190 and it ran up onto the green, drained the putt from about 25 feet. A rare birdie on that hole.

Course and greens were harder which was the real highlight of the day

Only played 6 and chipped in 3 times using Furyks chipping method:eek:
Push fading all irons but blaming wearing 4 layers and tight waterproofs!

32 points in a Stableford. Q/F today, had 6 par putts lip out! ( 4 of them in a row) And finished the round in style with 3 stabs on the 17th and 18th for 2 blobs.

Thanks to a 9 on our 6th I'm part of the 0.1 club!

Blew my handicap with a 12 over front nine but a more solid back 9 at +5, our course is par 72 and the medal was won by a 17 capper shooting a net 66!

Still was awesome to get a bit of sun burn!

Shot 8 over par and was sitting second in the medal when I left, but can't check scores as clubs website is down.

Posted a net 60 today!!!

... but today was the texas scramble linked to the Captain's drive-in (postponed after being snowed off 2 weeks ago). Net 55 won the thing, 60 wasn't anywhere near the prizes. Not often you finish with 4 under par gross thinking the round was a bit disappointing!

Lovely lovely day for golf today though, such a nice change to be taking layers off rather than adding more clothes, and not walking in plastered in mud.

Our opening day Medal was cancelled because of an early morning frost. So only managed a bounce matchplay game with my mate, was down for most of the match but turned it round a sneaked a 2&1 win. Hopefully we won't have any problems for next weekends medals on Sat and Sun.
:fore:

My Saturday round was OK. I got a three shot cut from winning the mid-week stableford (44 points) and I played to my new handicap with a solid 90 -17 = par 73.

I also got my first eagle! I shot a two on a 370 yd par 4. A 220 yard drive to the centre of the fairway then a 150 yd second shot straight in! It made the round a very memorable one for that reason alone.

Good weekend for golf for me using a demo titleist driver sat & sun my 3 wood ! scored 38 Sat with one NR, 37 Sun same hole 1 NR ! could have been better but bogeyed last two holes Sat & Sun
But all in all 2 below hc Sat and 1 below today ! :D

Managed to play Saturday and Sunday which is a real treat. Saturday was a mixed round irons and short game were good, off the tee was woeful! Disappointed as was the first comp of the season and had been playing well in previous weeks.

Sunday was a shocker! Like I had never played before! Some shots to cling to but that was it, couldn't hit a thing. Went home absolutely gutted.

Always next week.

0.4 cut for me on our opening medal day, was hoping for a better round but our greens were shocking! Still relatively pleased though and something to build on ;)

Played pairs stable ford yesterday shot 40 points, had a blob on the front 9, and no three pointers for 16 points, blitzed the back for 24 points and had 40. Played in a medal this morning, trundling along nicely until I 5 putted the 9th to go out in 44, and the back 9 was worse in with 50 for a net 78, the 9th played on my mind the whole round. Played another 18 this evening and shot 80, unbelievable. Just goes to show once that card is in hand it's a different ball game . Glad I've ended the day in a more positive mood tho

A bit strange for me, driving well (180 -200yds) and playing well from 100 yds in, my long irons have been very iffy though and in thursdays medal my putting was poor, today still driving well and pitching very good 4 up and downs from distances ranging from 130 to 50 yds. holed a few long putts, one a monster but missed from inside 3 feet twice.

Played poorly on Saturday and birdie'd the last two to buffer at 34 points. Put in a supplementary card today and shot 74 gross - 65 nett.

Had an up and down weekend - tbh if I'd have pieced together the rounds in different ways I could have had anything from a 65-90 gross. Consistency still needs a bit of work, but I'm getting there.

Pleased :)

Hit the ball like a complete and utter knob on Saturday. Managed to score solid enough to put most points in for our team in a 4 man AM/AM but the other guys had shockers. I even had to go in the nets after the round to prove i hadnt gone blind it was that bad:rofl:

Played again today and hit the ball much better but driving was still a bit off. Was trying out quite a few things today and practicing low running shots while the fairways are running like a dream. Putting was back now the greens have settled in too.

Just waiting for the first medal now :D

Took my coaches advice a little too fare and messed up my swing for 5 holes. Hit some stonking shots, short irons hugely improved but never felt comfortable over the ball. Still didnt feel right by the end of the round then woke up Sunday with a pounding headache and felt rubbish so stayed in bed.

Going back to my old setup and reapplying my pros changes from that to see if I can rediscover my form. Lots of hard work to do on the range as well as the course to grove in the feel for my new wedges. I just need to keep a cool head and believe in myself.
