......and what did it leave you feeling like afterwards?

I shot 37 stableford points yesterday in my 1st weekend comp of season. AND ended up quite dissapointed. As threw away around 6/7 shots......3 putted 4 times and even 4 putted once.DISGUSTED with myself over that one(the couple of winter greens still on just smashed me ).Also couple of BAD BAD holes with no points.

Was very relaxed at the start and resulted in best ever start PAR,PAR,BOGEY(3 putted from 10 feet on winter green) PAR.......then a shocking 8 at a downhill par 5......aarrrgghhhh!.........regained some consistency and had a great back 9 UNTIL the short par 4 17th......where I four putted for a 7........

Still the positives are.... I hit 6 pars.....and continued my more than steady start to the season 38 points miweek,37 yesterday.Would have been happy with that BEFORE the games and THIS TIME last season would have been ecstatic with those scores.

alot better than expected , as mentioned in a different thread , greens are so quick in our place they turned the order of merit to stableford , .. turned -1 with 23pts .. had a few good runs at birdies on back 9 & the bogies could easily have been pars , all had a chance .. finished on 40pts .. been playing dirt so hopefuly a decent handicap cut when results posted tonight .. could be lowest handicap ever so far depending on CSS.. either way it was a nice surprise

Good shooting yourself mate keep it going

Played my first Medal yesterday, not good. Front 9 not bad, good with the driver and long irons but short game cost me a few shots. Then, back 9.....driving still good but the short game got worse and worse. I had a nightmare 7 on a par 3!!! Missed the green right, thinned a chip over the green and after that just lost the head and made things worse. Putting was ropey throughout.

At least I know what I need to practice! Drive for show, putt for dough.

Didn't get a game yesterday due to me waking up with an allergic reaction to something that caused my left eye to swell so much I could barely see!!

Got a game today though and it was great to be back after 3 weeks off.Played decent after a scrappy start and was round in about par/1 over scratch.

Looking forward to the Summer golf now!

tsped.....I'm still 'reeling' from 4 putting from around 14 feet!!!....PATHETIC eh.....my 'mistake' was I tried to get a par and went for it.....went around 5 foot past the pin which put me under pressure to get bogey, underhit this one was so annoyed with that my attitude/demeanor dropped and I was too casual with my 3rd putt and lipped out.My own fault, should have played for the 2 putt.LESSONS LEARNED,I hope!

Positive I think.

First time I've been able to play since starting lessons so a little nervous to be honest. Still a little snow in places, mainly drainage ditches and bunkers, but other than that pretty good condition.

Played 2 shots under my handicap and if I'd have putted a little better could have been a few more.

Highlights were a cracking 4 wood recovery on a long Par 4 after a poor tee shot and this 2 hybrid into about 15 feet a par 3, playing around 180 uphill.

Still a long way to go but I'm happy looking to going froward.

Good stuff Gareth.....the more I think about it am being too hard on myself about yesterday,am now more thinking about the positive sides to yesterday than dwelling on what I messed up............good driving, good hybrids, some cracking wedges to the pin to give me quite a few 1 putts.......and some good putting(at times).

Played a quick eight holes yesterday evening (1,2,3,4,5,6,12,13 is a nice loop for me) - lovely sunny evening so nice to be out. Played good but I can feel something is not right - something pretty basic. I feel that I have a game that can score pretty well but there is something fundamentally flawed in my swing at the moment. My feeling is that it is probably my hip turn - or more to the point - the lack of it. And I don't think that I can fix it myself. Lessons beckon - if the Mrs will allow me to spend on them.

Had a friendly 18 with two pals this morning, played stableford off unofficial handicaps. I scored 39 points off 20 and still lost! One mate who is getting better shot 49 points playing off 25. He shot 84 for 12 over. Just looking at stats from my golflogix app, he only hit 2 fairways all round! Everything went his way and it was great to see!

A terrific day at the torrance in st andrews...sunshine,no wind, course in top condition, and a view to die for.

And a 4&3 victory.

Played like a buffon on friday ended up with 30 points after blobbing 5 holes  then today finished with a net 70 in the medal after having 3 doubles

Still should see me with a nice cut and down to my lowest handicap hopefully

Played to 18 handicap in this mornings medal on the front nine. On the back nine it went a bit pear shaped and I played a shocking back nine. Ended the day with five over my handicap of 23. I blame the snow drifts on a couple of the holes and our first game this winter on grass instead of mats. Also on the front 9 we played off the whites and the back nine we played off blues.

I will add more excuses when I think of them :D

Nine on Friday was up and down but full 18 yesterday was far, far better. Was much more consistant and got on the green in three or four on loads of holes which I was really pleased with. Best was getting a 7 on the hardest hole on the course. Putting was hit and miss on some so I must practice and find out when our beginners group is going to have a putting lesson.
