Anyone else feel drained ?

Played my second 18 today and I’m shattered

Yes.
Played 5 aside in Monday night. 9 Holes on Tuesday evening, and 18 this afternoon. I was supposed to be playing 5 aside again tonight, but went to Morrisons for the weekly shop instead ?.

The weather today was hard work. 9 degrees with a biting wind. Somtimes needing 3 clubs more when playing into the wind. The best shot I hit today was an absolutely flushed 5 iron that went 139 yards.

I had a really good front 9 then ran out of steam on the back.

First 18 under the belt, second later today. Good to be back, greens were slow, fairways weren't as short as I was expecting (still soft in places) and daisies made ball spotting tricky! Mixed mag of decent shots, 3 putts and a couple of chunks. Basically played to h/c which was a bit surprising.

Hit a great drive on the 10th, found 'my' ball 60 yards from the green only to realise it wasn't my ball and the guy who'd been on our fairway as we came up the hill had picked up my ball (same make, different model) after his wayward drive on the 9th. Raging! Compounded by me wanting to swap back as we crossed (us on the 11th and him now on the 12th) only to be hold he lost it on his 10th tee shot! But sure I got to keep the cheaper model....

A real mixed bag on my first round back this morning. Very wayward driving until I slowed it down after a few holes, then drove quite well. Kept catching irons off of the toe and lost confidence on the front nine, but then flushed a couple. Chipping was a disaster and kept quitting on shots. However, putting was excellent, no three putts and holed one from 45ft for a birdie on our long par 3 12th. 54 out and 44 back and plenty of room for improvement, but just enjoyed being back out there.

Second range session today. Much improved. No unmentionables. Actually felt like a solid swing. Distance down a bit still not sure how much that was down to the cold, the headwind or just reduced swingspeed after the long layoff.

Two range sessions
Eight a-side football
And a round back today at Cleobury Mortimer. I'm exhausted and I've been off work all week.

Just booked Perton Park for Sunday.

4th round in 5 days and totally cream crackered. Driving starting to come back, chipping getting better and lag putting OK. Greens still a tad bumpy from poor growth but happy to back at it ?

My swing seems to have come back but the combination of the lay-off and moving to a new course seems to have left my short game and scoring ability in Surrey. I think I was about +15 over this morning and thought I played pretty well o_O

Creamed my opening tee shot right down the middle of the fairway. Unfortunately it was the 18th fairway. I have never been that far left in 12 years at the club.:(Nice blob to start with, then next six holes level par.:) A few good holes after that but the bad holes were horrors. Blobbed both par 5's, but six threes help the card. 32 points in total, and a nice win on the 17th with my partner. Hopefully get rid of the dross on Sunday.(y)

Course was in great condition, but playing really fast. Greens were much quicker than my carpet at home.

Went out again today and despite the howling cold wind managed to shoot 34 points! I found my touch around the greens again and stopped choking the life out the club and swung silky.

Played my second 18 today and I’m shattered

First round exhausted and body ached, like I’d had to bowl 15 overs uphill and into the wind, third round on Friday and felt like I’d ‘got my legs back’. Comforting myself now that golf is proper exercise

Oh dear! That went very, very, very badly.

I only took one picture because from the first tee onwards all my time was spent playing like a clown towards a gross 99. It was great to be in a medal again, the weather was glorious but I fear it’s going to be a long time before I can play to handicap off the black tees again. :ROFLMAO:
