I'm just wondering you festive other forumers get.

I'm going pressy and decoration shopping this weekend and am really looking forward to it. Everything so far as getting the Argos catalogue for the little'n to circle ideas then write a traditional over-the-top letter to Santa.

This year is going to be a cracking Christmas and I'm going all out on making this special for my nearest and dearest.

The religeous side apart its a time for kids, as I am not one and dont have any I will be glad when its over, I will send Christmas day with my mum, either going to my brother's in Yorkshire or my other brother's in Canada.

Not had a christmas tree or cards in my house,
WHAT?

I'm guessing that since me and the wife are still a young 30 and have a 5 year old daughter I still get all of the enjoyment out of it. We have our Christmas morning then this year we are visiting my parents for a few hours/beers (live over the road) then going to my wife parents in the afternoon. Her mum works at a hospital and its her turn for the Xmas day shift so was have offered to cook dinner at their house ready for her getting home. We are staying over so the dizzy water will flow and the Boxing Day breakfast will be epic

My enthusiasm for Xmas starts to wane just at the time when it should building.
The reason?
I'm Christmased out by mid December because its been rammed down my throat since mid October.......

I'd skip the whole thing and not bother an iota, did even get a game few years back in a 6 ball sssh don't tell anyone!
But now we have a 3 year old so it's the whole shooting match. Trips to Santa being fought off already, oh and the Xmas dinner battle on the horizon....

im not very christmassy been dumped on hogmanay and christmas, also three friends have died over the xmas period. plus not having my brother for xmas madness makes it worse. just aswell im a happy go lucky guy then, lol. golf for me helps me clear my mind and forget about things for a couple of hours.

bah humbug

It's our grand daughters first Christmas but at 9 months i doubt she'll want a Scalextrix, roll on next year!

I'm your worst Christmas nightmare. Absolutely love it to bits! Although I refuse to get too hyper till Dec.

Love Xmas shopping, love Xmas (cheesy) music/hits.

Christmas Eve night sees me and Mrs Hobbit put the pressies out for those of the 6 kids that have returned for Xmas, then we do what we always do at midnight Xmas Eve ( no not that). We have a mega picnic in front of the fire. Wine, smoked salmon, various fancy cheeses and nibbles and champagne.

Christmas Day I usually get up first and whack the Xams hits CD on.... wonder if that's why only 2 of the 6 are coming home this year...

Then the Queen's Speech and lots of drink...

I've allways liked Christmas
We have a rule in our house though, and that is it doesn't start until 12 days before. Thats the day we get the tree, the decorations go up and the cheesy cds get a dusting.
When the kids were young they used to love the Christmas songs, now they claim to hate them. Somehow though this makes it just as much fun, well for me anyway ;)..
What really sets it of though is a bit of the white stuff. Last year there was a feeling something was missing after being spoilt the two previous years. Here's hoping for a bit more this year.

Christmas shopping pretty much finished (we have to budget throughout the year) except for perishables, and the decorations are ready to go up on the 1st.

It's a mad house here, we love Christmas. Even though the kids are too old to "believe" any more, the decorations go up, music goes on, and everyone relaxes just a little more so the crazy kicks in.

our decorations won't be going up until 8/9th December we have a roughly 2 week before rule. We normally have just a Christmas tree and a few candles but I'm going over the top this year.

I guess the reason I like Christmas and don't get bogged down by the build up is that I'm not in the habit of going shopping for the sake of it and he wife goes food shopping. At work I have my own office so I'm in control of the music so don't have to listen to the Xmas music if I don't feel like it that day.

But this year is going to be very good

I have got my wife the Christmas present to beat all Christmas presents. It's something she has always said she wants to do but she hasn't a clue I've got it for her. I can't wait to see her face when she opens up the voucher!!

Love Christmas.... big family get togethers , watching christmas movies with the kids , roaring fire in the sitting room just lounging around on the floor , seeing the excitement when santa calls , , get all the presents sorted early december , then just wander around the shops the few days before , soaking up the athmosphere ...

Downside is the second job i have in the pub, it gets very busy , the run in to it with chistmas parties etc , people who dont realy like each other shouldnt drink together ,they have a habit of telling each other what they realy think after a few beers .. brings out the worst in alot of people

The week after christmas into new year is great as it is families & friends all home & the atmosphere completely changes ..

Bring it on , but hey at least wait until December ,the build up will soon start in July at this rate
