Got some vouchers for Christmas from Santa for American Golf, and considering changing my driver.

Now, don't get me wrong, I really do like my Benross HOTSpeed, especially as it only cost a fiver as a clearance item and I had a gift voucher to use against it.

However, I'm always thinking about getting more out of my driving, and I'm looking at this bit of kit as it's available for 99sheets from AG and I was a big fan of my old DXi Superlight until I cracked the head... :(

I'm going to try and get down to my local AG and have a hit with one, and hopefully compare it to the HOTSpeed, but I was wondering if anyone had put one through its paces, and if so, what are your thoughts on it.

How does it stack up against the likes of the SLDR, G30 etc?

I've got one. It's a good bit of kit for the money. The shaft is a real aldila phenom, it's adjustable from 8.5 to 11.5 and you can play around with the swing weight. I've owned a few drivers (cough) and its up there in terms of quality. I really like the matt grey finish.

That said, I'm not currently using it, I've not got any driver in the bag. It's no longer that my mini driver and adams speed line strong 3 wood, but I've been struggling with driver all year :o

I would class it as a better bit of kit than the benross IMO, and I've owned both.

I got mine new from golfbidder for £99, it's a good deal at that price

Don't know about the M3, but if you liked the other Wilson, what about the D100 Superlight? AG stock those and they've had some favourable reviews. I was interested in a Hot Speed 2 driver up until actually seeing one in the flesh, it just looks odd to me, weird shape. I digress, the D100, have a look.

I went to AG today to specifically try it, really wanted to like it as fancied playing with the settings etc. But just didn't seem to click for me. Tried a few others and only the Benross RIP 2 seemed to be vying to push my current old Benross out of the bag.

I had a driver fitting on Tuesday and struggled with the G30 and SLDR...alebit haven't used a driver for 6 months as I'm a Mini SLDR user. However, the club have gave me (to get used to swinging a driver again) the Wilson D100 which is super light...way lighter than the aforementioned.

I will let you know how I get on but at present I'm impressed with it.

Only stiff available in my local AG and surroundings... Felt awkward to hit and didn't like the sound.

Picked up an ex-demo TM R1 for £40 instead, just missing adjustment tool. Good nick otherwise, although a clean won't go amiss as its a bit mucky.

Can't go wrong at the price. :)

I don't know about the Wilson so can't help there, sorry. However AG are also doing the Cleveland classic for £79 which is an absolute steal for a very very good driver. Very light, easy to hit and long. If you're looking at spending around £100 definitely worth a hit.
