hi i am looking in the near future to get custom fitted for a set of irons and was wondering which companies offer the best custom fit experience, and where you can get fitted for the clubs. Also I am aware that there is a large custom fit centre at the Belfry which is fairly accessible for me, but i can not find anywhere how you go about booking a session there, does anybody know where i can find this info. Any adivse on the cost or any other details would also be much appreciated.

thanks in advance.

Ping in Gainsborough was a good experience; but most golf pros will now custom fit. Look out for demo days also.

Hi Eaglehunter.
I went for fitting at ping in gainsborough a about 3 months ago.The fitting is free and i arranged it through pro at my local club.
It just depends on what clubs u want .

I can recommend it highly and no pressure is put on you to buy.I live in bedford and it took me just under 2 hours to get there on a steady drive.
Hope this is of some help.

I went to a clubmaker to buy my Orka irons, also had SnakeEyes clubs to try. Very comprehensive fitting lasting upwards of 2 hours

Hi
I've just been fitted out for Mizuno MP 57 irons at the Mizuno fitting centre in wrexham.
I live in Nottingham so it was about a 2 hour drive.
You have to arrange the session (approx 11/2 hours) through a stockist who in my case is my club pro. He came along for the ride and also ended up ordering a set of MP 57'S !
It was well worth the trip and you are under no obligation to order.
I have also been to the Belfry in the past but they charge 50 quid but give you a voucher for the shop or knock it off the club(s)if you buy.
I found both experiences well worth it and would definately recommend you try it.
Hope this helps.

out of interest is it possible to have clubs that you already own adjusted e.g. raptures at Gainsborough? if so , what might such adjustments cost?

Yes it is, the club fitter I used charged £8.00 per club plus the cost of any shafts, grips etc. Believe that Gainsborough adjust Ping clubs for free but not certain.

Wow- only £8 per club to get the Raptures (and me) put through all that technology. Great!

Thanks for getting back to me,

Bill

From what I have heard loft and lies can change as you use your clubs so should be checked and re-set occasionally. also suppose that changes in swing etc could require future adjustment.
