Hi,

this may sound silly (nothing new there) but what is the diff between a resuce and a fairway wood? Are the used for the same thing or is one ment to go longer than the other ?

Cheers

rescue is a iron replacement with a shorter shaft which could be 21degrees which is generally a 3 iron or 7 wood loft, fairway woods are normally 3 wood 15 degrees and 5 wood 18 degrees, rescues are easier to hit off the deck

you can get rescues to replace 2, 3 and 4 irons and with a range of lofts depending on manufacturer (19, 21, 23 & 25 are fairly common). The shafts are almost always graphite and will appear stiffer than expected partly due to the difference in length compared with a fairway.
