Hey guys,
I am doing the presidents putter at my club tomorrow... It is a qualifier. Could somebody please explain what a qualifier is? Thanks...
Also just a mini rant... Only people over 40 can win the trophy how stupid!!!

Well you've got to give us oldies a chance to win something :D
 
It could have two meanings I guess depending on the competition. It usually means it is a qualifying event for handicapping purposes so you will go up or down if you have a good/bad day and miss the buffer. It could also mean that the top xx (or even the winner only) qualify to go into another round or event. We have something called the Masters and you can only qualify by winning a medal, stableford or baord event in the preceeding twelve months
