Help please - Millride or Royal Ascot?

as a former member or mill ride i would advise your friend to play a round there over the next couple of weeks you will get a better of idea of the course as it has a drainage problem on the mid part of the course and can get very boggy.
as for the summer t attracts a lot of corporate golf society days this can make the the course busy.
as for the membership cost do not take the first price offered haggle you will get a better deal

Mill Ride is decent course. Although during a visit in the summer I was stopped on the 10th and told there was a society teeing off. So me and my partner had to sit and wait for half an hour while they all went off. It was probably the worst piece of management I've ever seen on a golf course. It resulted in the back nine taking about 3 hours as none of the buggers let us through. If I didn't have a good score on the go I'd have probably exploded at some stage!

last time I played there we started on the 15th because there were 5 groups on the 1st tee

We played 15-18 & then 1-3 and walked in as there were 4 groups playing the 5th

two societies had gone out back to back, We were told the course was gonna be quiet when we phoned the day before

And is another that gets really wet. Better than it use to be when it first opened but still a mudbath in Winter. I don't like the layout either

I don't like the layout either

that's kind of my point, I played it a couple of times, wasn't really impressed, it doesn't really flow as a course. They range is good though

Best thing about Windlesham is/was the secretary, ex page 3 model. Don't know if she is still there, was quite some time ago.
