Hi

My name's Mike and I am new to the forum although I have been lurking for a few months. I live in Cambridgeshire and have just got back into golf after a few years break with a shoulder injury (now fixed). I suppose I have been playing again for about 8 months. I try and get out most days at my local club and tend to play on my own. It's not that I'm a miserable so and so but I really enjoy playing solo as I have to get round quickly to attend to other matters.

I spend far too much money on golf equipment and watch too may "cures" on Youtube! I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the posts on this forum and hope to become an active member!

Are you a member of a club in the area ?
 
Welcome along. I'd recommend playing with others though as you'll learn far more about rules etiquette and benefit from watching better players. If you join a club and get a handicap you can enjoy playing in comps

It appears from reading his post that he has played golf before Homer - he is coming back into the game after an injury break.

Also hasnt menioned anythign about his standard of play so may well be a very good player - and "better players" dont automatically mean they know the rules and have the right etiquette ?!

Yes I have been playing for 30 years or more. It took an £8k shoulder OP to get back into the game. Thank goodness for BUPA!

Ouch - that sounds a serious injury ? Constant dislocation ?

Sorry the crystal ball was a bit murky. Just said got back into golf after a break. I was offering an opinion. Yet again you have to nit pick another post

No it wasn't anything more than calcification in the shoulder joints. I had a bit of keyhole surgery, it was sucked out and hey presto, cured! It was done by one of the top sports shoulder experts, a surgeon called Titherley-Strong in Cambridge.

Its not nit picking Homer its just you posted out your standard welcome post without finding out a bit about the guy first.

Didnt need a crystal ball to understand that it appeared that Mike has played the game before.

Is that at Addenbrooks BUPA ?

My wife snapped the bone playing hockey and the surgeon there did wonders getting it right.

And how do you know what standard he played at, how long he played before the injury etc. Your making assumptions. Yet again you pop up and a thread goes west. Sorry Mike! I'll leave you to it.
