Hardest shot in golf

Probably any shot with the driver as there is a larger margin for error. If something goes wrong then it's a guarenteed bogey at the very least.

Had one last weekend - ball 6 inches inside back lip of deep bunker. Not fear exactly but you pretty much know you will playing your next shot from the same bunker.

A soft wedge shot off a bald summer lie with an obstacle in front like a burn or a bunker, in a foursomes match where you need to get up and down to keep the game alive...

I hate shots from the fairway about 170 yards to the pin with a small lake in front of the green covering about 20 yards.

Every single time I go in that bloody lake!!!

Lay up ;)

For me, it's probably any shot from around the green, say 50 yards and in. I know that covers a whole gambit of shot types, but none of them are easy.

I was going to say driver as that is where I collapse most frequently but this is a good shout. That is right on the edge of my range, too long for an iron and my hybrids are horribly inconsistent. No doubt I would try to hit the ball too hard and not catch it cleanly. On a good day I would go for it and probably fail 5 times out of 6. Any other day I would take a 9 iron and lay up. Experience has taught me to lay up. I'm no Tin Cup.

What is the shot you fear the most ?

the one that carries the largest cost of failure is the hardest shot - however that does not make it one to be feared at all; possibly the opposite!

most feared would probably be an easy wide open first fairway in front of a large group of interested spectators !

EVERY single shot from about the 15th onwards when you're in a big comp and have a good card going. I've only had this senario twice and it's bloomin' tough. Trying not to shake on shots that you know are tough but makeable. God knows what it is like for the pros in big comps.

The next one, after you have just shanked a full wedge OOB from the middle of the fairway.

Did this a few years ago :)

Been there!
Did this 5 times in a row during a Medal on thenday of Princess Di's funeral!!

For me, at the moment, its any bunker shot.
We have so few and I rarely go in them but that just means I don't get the practice so when into gomin its harder...

Shots like this:

They're impossible. At least with shots over water you have a chance, or can lay up, what's your option here? Unless you get incredibly fortunate and pull it off, which for someone of my limited ability is never going to happen, you're having another in the bunker.
