Handicap Query

So to clarify...

Mixed Comps result in 2 separate CSS and adjustments are only for competition purposes NOT handicap?
....

Not sure what you mean by the bit in bold! With Mixed Comps, the Ladies and Mens scores are analysed separately, with separate CSSs and adjustments to Handicap.

The scores are also merged with an 'Equity Adjustment' to equate Ladies CSS (and Par if Stableford) to the Mens one in order to get an overall table - for the Competition only.

...

I'll check the list on the board before we play rather than rely on HDID as not all our results get posted to there for some reason.
Always wise!

I was always under the impression that you MUST adjust yourself down if a cut. If CSS isn't available then use SSS.
As for up that's already been dealt with and only the home club can do that.

As for CSS in a mixed comp. Surely it needs to be separate as the genders are playing different measured courses.

Thanks. I meant the adjustments to handicaps based upon the SSS which is usually the men's...so when processed are said adjustment shots (3 in this case) removed for handicap purposes? Actually just read your reply and of course the scores are entered in the same way BUT against their handicap NOT the adjusted one for the comp...

Got it

I think it's just the slightly Mickey Mouse way the System2000 system handles Mixed comps!

It was something of an 'afterthought'/tack on - added, from memory, subsequent to the 2 bodies merging and handicapping coming into line (about 2005)!

Well there I was all prepared for the issue to arise. Popped into the pro shop to check the handicaps on the terminal and the comp had been processed!! So it was 2 shots, not 1 and no arguments to start the final...

We won 3&2 and were never behind - chuffed...I seldom win anything
