His sense of timing is awful - he was hanging around up by the green at the 14th and missed my best shot of the day, a wedge from 80 yards to 2 feet, then started snapping away and got one of me knobbing the putt wide of the hole :mad:

Brocade mate, purest linen brocade.

Since gone in the dustbin. Totally flucked. Was always going to be their last outing. Had them for years, but the linings have gone west and the hems are a bit frayed. Added to which, the waist band has become a bit of a squeeze. Possibly. But I'm not commenting on that.

When I wore these in Argentina, the caddy had never seen anything quite like them. All the rage in England mate, every one wears them.

very true... on the odd occasion where my swing came together for a fine contacted strike to the green... where was he?

murph last time i saw trousers like it was limahl from kajagoogoo prancing about in 1984 :) :) :) and you weren't to shy about wearing them :).

thought all you big stars would shoot the lights out round a pitch and putt track you were all crying about, a wee bit wind and you couldn't hack it ,its like that in jock land everyday :D
 
It wasn't the wind, and it wasn't the length of the course, it was just me, playing like a pratt, as usual. Trying to knock the skin off every shot. Will I ever learn?
 
Echo all the others - cracking day arranged by the GM team. Had excellent company in Michael, Glen and Ricky - just a shame that our golf only shone on very rare occasions!!

Same with the GM cameraman - he got me hitting a cracking drive at the first.............and that was it!!! The only other time he snapped me, I was tending the flag for the others!!!
 
Just like to add my own thanks to everybody at GM for an excellent day.

Also thanks to Robin, David and Rich for the excellent company and banter.

Lastly I would like to apologise to the GM camerman for my appalling language on the longest drive hole. Not only did I miss my fairway but also the fairway to the left. DOH!!

I can verify both of these statements as being true although the language was only a continuation of the bloke who tee'd off before him :o :o :D

Many thanks to all who organised the day. I have to say I loved the course conditions , super fairways to hit off without a speck of mud in sight. Also the greens ran true and would accept any club you hit into them , marvellous.

Thanks to Mark and Robin (off the forum) and Rich who isnt. The company and banter is what these days are all about. Plenty of bad golf between us to laugh about and even some good stuff thrown in aswell along the way. There were occasions when the odd club was in danger of getting a flying lesson but we'll move on from that one.

Nice to catch up with a few of the guys i've met before and also to meet a few more of the nice chaps off the forum.

I'd just like to add that it should have been a 9 hole comp cos I was 1 over par and 19 points standing on the 10th tee.
 
+1 in praising Mike and his team for another well organised day.

Great track, great company. Loved the Cleveland wedges (I think I am a convert) and cant wait for the next one.

Already booked in for Breadsall and considering St Pierre.

Now if I could just find a putter that worked........... :(

What a day out! So many shots and holes will live long in my memory.

I really enjoyed the round, Fundy was fantastic! Philly my friend you will go far and I hope to have another round one day to see the progress. Maybe if things do not work out with my job down here I might be moving to Cambridge so you never know!

It will take a lot to shift that putt for par that curled down and round into the hole from my memory.

Thanks again to all at GM for organising this great series of events and to the others in my 4 ball. You gents make a fantastic day even more fantasticerer!
 
I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I'm not beating myself up as i just didn't have the rub of the green. I hit the ball really well for 90%. I also hit the par 5 17th in 2 but the greens are just so tricky i managed a 3 putt par!! I certainly wish i had played it before but 33 points i shot felt like 40 where as Steve from MK managed to rob the course of 36 points to then find out he missed out by 1 shot in his category!! lol

Looking forward to another go later on this year.
