Yesterday morning in a friendly game. Both of us were on a 480-yard par 5 in two and after my colleague rolled in a 20-footer for an eagle 3, I followed him in from a similar distance.

I've halved holes in birdies a fair few times but never halved a hole in eagles.

Anyone else ever seen it or done it?

Can't match that but I did once lose a hole on a par 5 after sinking a birdie putt, to an eagle!

I chipped in for an eagle on our 5th last year. Thought I must be good to win. My opponent stuck it inches away from about 100 yards for a bidie and was getting a shot so only halved.

Did your opponent let you play out of turn??

Can't quite match that but I have halved a par 5 in 9's before now
:o

Yes, and I lost 3 skins to a 12 on a par 5 at Gatton Manor G.C. once.

That is some feat! Even in the Ryder Cup that would be quite rare.

I've had eagles made against my birdies, I've made eagles against theirs and been lining up birdie putts whilst they proceed to hole out from 40yds for eagle, but can't say I remember halving in eagles.

What I can say is that halving in birdies is enough to make you feel like you can both actually play the game properly... well certainly for a millisecond as you leave that green :)

Played in a match once where the hole was won with a 12 - 4BBB. Blowing a gale left to right with OB all down the right. Not pretty....
I've halved in birdies before and had to eagle a par 5 for a win but not halved in eagles.
