me and my doubles partner are playing a greensomes match next week, our handicaps are 23 and 19 against 6 and 15. Could anyone please tell us how many shots we receive.

50% of the difference between the aggregate of each side.

23 + 19 = 42 / 2 = 21

6 + 15 = 21 / 2 = 10.5 = 11

21 - 11 = 10

They give you 10 strokes

Your handicap is 20.6 and the opponents is 9.6. This is based on the CONGU recommendation of 0.6 x lower handicap plus 0.4 of the higher handicap.

There should be a chart /graph showing strokes receive in greensomes somewhere in your locker room , well there is in ours.

Sorry, I quoted 4somes.

19 x 0.6 = 11.4
23 x 0.4 = 9.2
Total 20.6 rounded = 21

6 x 0.6 =3.6
15 x 0.4 = 6.0
Total 9.6 rounded = 10

You get 11

Half strokes or over to be counted as one; smaller fractions to be disregarded
