3rd round of club champs this evening, knocked it round in level par 70 which was lowest gross of the day and my 2nd best ever score at my home course in six and a half seasons.

Where that came from god only knows but got a nice 0.4 off to be safely back on 4 for now.

Was +3 after 6 so chuffed to play the last 12 in 3 under par.

Having struggled all season it felt great to score well for once and bag a few birdies.

Actually looking forward to the 4th round on Saturday now. Hoping I can do the same again and get back to where I started this season handicap wise.

No chance of winning but after poor golf and scores of 77 and 81 in the first two rounds I've moved from 11th to 6th today which is the right direction at least.

Sorry had to share that! Wife, kids and pets just don't understand! :p

Birdieman....brilliant,well done!Funny how it can all come good.
Good luck in the next round, hope you keep the scoring going!!
Wish to hell I could have played anywhere near my handicap tonight...was absolute crap!
So,very sorry, while v.happy for you am incredibly jealous
(heh,heh)

Well done mate. Great scoring on the last 12. It shoes what a stupid game it is. Shanked my way around on Sunday where every shot was bad and there were lots of them. Went out tonight and made a sand save par at the 1st, birdied 2, dropped a shot at 3 and birdied 4 without a shank in sight.

Had a couple of bad holes and then started playing two balls and trying different shots but still made an up and down par at 9 to finish off.

I don't understand either. LEVEL par. To me, such a feat only exists on the TV.

FABULOUS. Well done. :)

Well done BM its great to see you get some game back after the troubles earlier on this year. Lets hope some consistency now follows and you can enjoy the rest of the season

Great new birdieman. Also good news that it looks to have sparked an interest in you again. I got the impression you were getting a little jaded with it all.

Really pleased for you.

Thanks.
It's been a good while since I've felt that anxiety over the closing holes of trying to get in with a good number. I like that feeling, all self-induced pressure of course.
Hit 8 out of 9 GIR on back 9 but kept dollying the ball to the hole for tap-ins on the last six or so instead of getting the ball past the hole where it has a chance of dropping. Fear of the four footer back got me.
Stupid 3 putt on 17 from only 15' or so was a sickener after going after it a bit but managed a birdie 3 from about 5' on the last to make up for 17 and go home happy.
