this whole compass crap winds me up. On the course do we need to know what is north/south/east/west? Do we bollox, only whether the wind is with/against/left/right and I am damn sure I dont need a compass to work that out!!! Or maybe I need it to find the next tee along with a map and some basic orienteering skills, grid to mag add etc etc
Would be interesting to know when the compass was added to the rules, was it in 1863 or something?
Really handy chart there, thanks
Can I ask if its the muti-function variety (mobile) with a compass not requiring internet but you only use it for email, sms text or calls is it against the local rule (if one exists) i.e Do you have to engage the DMD feature for it to break the local rule or would using these other functions break it too?

Ohhh, about a years time!Hey Brendy when we playing Ballyliffin again. I now have a GPS and the lazer so I'll be able to find out exactly how far from the fairway I hooked my drive and confirm that you did infact hit a 350 yard drive and that smange can put a 3W 200 yards with a 30yard carry![]()
