Don't know whether its a mental thing when not wanting to lose a good ball or its really the ball in question, but Ball choice for a High handicapper, is it really that important. Paying 3 quid odd for a Prov1 isn't obviously feesable when the chances are a pack wont last you the month, jeez i cry when i find a nice one and put it into the trees on the next hole. Thinking of finding a ball and sticking with it, but what one? Obviously the least cost the better without sacrificing feel/distance. 100 grade A/pearl lakeballs would be ideal at the right price, if anyone knows a decent seller on fleabay or the likes.

Cheers, Darren.

Golf balls are the biggest area of disagreement on this forum. You say your a high handicaper! At your level I would say forget spending £35 quid on a box of balls and buy a 100 grade a balls from ebay. my friend who plays off 27 says his balls work out at 15p a ball. So no big deal when you loose one . If you want to stick to one ball I would say wilson dx2's would suit your pocket best

You would become a better golfer if you spent your pro v1 money on lessons

Totally in agreement with you mate. What ball would you recommend?

Some of my favourite balls iv had in my bag are the wilson ultras, good to know they are rated. I had a look at the ad333 and the soft srixons, would likely have to find them cheap as yeah they can be pricey.

I am not sure there has been a golf ball invented for a high handicapper yet.

They have been talking about a ball that you can whistle on and it bleeps so to make it easier to find in the rough.......

I suggest Bridgestone e5 or Mizuno D201.

The e5 has a lot of feel for a 2 piece ball and the D201 seemed to me to not spin off the tee very much making slice or hook less harsh.

Nah, the remote control ball sounds a better idea.

From a 17 handicap golfer!

Plus your earlier comment about can't swing play Ping. Oh boy this place cracks me up!

Will be plenty in the rough at your local golf club!! Other than that the usual suspect like AG/Direct Golf and online golf are generally worth a shot as well as your local Pro shop if they have offers on

You are clearly some sado who has stormed off the forum in a huff because someone has bullied you or given you stick in the past and now your back to seek revenge. Kind of like a crap version of Batman.

Hi Darren,
It didn't take me too long, when I started, to realise I should not be buying cartons of new balls.
I lost 9 in one round - I may as well have stood out on the course handing them out to other golfers.
So I bought these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000ZLVW8I/ref=gno_cart_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AJCO9OJS1SZ56
They really did look as new.
Especially useful in winter on our course as its a mud bath in so many places.
Ive since won new balls for getting "2's" in comps and I have Callaway, Srixon and Titleist.
As my game improves I treat myself to using them.
I can still remember the thrill of walking into the clubhouse announcing a Personal Best - finishing with the ball I started with!

I won some Wilson tour velocity's and I was surprised how well I played with them. Definitely going to shift to them in Winter when they start vanishing in the rough & leaves. £10 for 15 is a steal.
