I am hitting more greens already. Last round on my home course was 55.6% GIR. I've been around the 40-50% mark whereas last year it was more like 25%. The thing is, I can practice full shots at the range, but I don't really have anywhere to practice chipping, so I kind of just need a simple technique that works - at the moment I'm in a state of having tried everything and not knowing which way is up. I'm never going to go around hitting every green so I never have to chip. Good chipping technique is really important at my place as all the greens are on slopes so you can easily short-side yourself or leave a tough downhiller.Do you think with your course being very short that putting practice into your short irons and wedges would be more beneficial?
The more often you can hit the green the less you have to chip.
Also with a lot of par 3s getting those tee shots onto the greens could well be the difference between an ok round and a great round
