Not sure where to post this so I'll put it in two threads :

Played social game game yesterday with a 4 club wind
13/13 FIR with Driver (not even a trickle into first cut)

Of those holes...
2/13 GIR (both resulted in 1 putt birdies)

Dunno whether to laugh or cry

Would you believe it... Our club have a new mower for the rough and its actually being used!

Give them a couple of weeks and we may have something that resembles a golf course again!

Off on a 4 day mini tour with my Society today
Chipping Sodbury today, then onto Thornbury where we are staying for the duration
Playing Thornbury tomorrow
Thursday AM playing the Thornbury par 3 course and then 2 pm tee at Clevedon
On the way back Friday playing Chippenham.

So glad the weather is cooler, last week would have done me in

Would have said hello on Friday as Chippenham is my home course but will be in Rome on a Med cruise. Course is in ok nick but they are getting ready for work on a couple of holes (4&6) to improve the bunkers. Top tracer on the range if you want a warm up and you will be guaranteed a friendly welcome in the shop and clubhouse - no need for long socks 🧦 😄

Had an amble around the front nine with the lads today. Not took the clubs. Thought I would have a look for a ball or two. 93 balls later I got bored and came home when it started raining.

Could be

six of them were practice balls 😳
Who plays with practice balls on a course.

When you say practice are they Pro Vs with PRACTICE stamped on them? If so they're just regular Pro Vs that are handed out at tour events for use on the range and then collected and resold.

My mate occasionally breaks out actual range balls, of which his dad has hundreds, if he's having a particularly bad round 😂.

One actually is a Pro V practice, two are from our range and three Mizuno.😳
I found a lovely place on the course where there was loads. That’s one to keep in the back pocket.😉

You’d be surprised. I often find the odd range ball on our course in places that not even Rory could reach. Literally as far away from the range as you can get. Proper Srixon range balls too, solid rubber yellow things with RANGE BALL in big black letters on them.

Range balls are the most found ball at my place. I actually think there’s more on the course than on the range
