I know I've mentioned this before (sorry!) but why don't some open organisers publish the results? I won't name the club but I had to chase them twice to get anything at all, and then it was just a list of the top three with their prizes.
I don't care who won, and I don't care what they won, I don't know those people - I want to know where I came in relation to everyone else.
I've fed this back to the club and, to be fair to them, they did reply. They just said "we don't do that"! OK, I'll enter somewhere else next time.

Happens all the time at ours, but you can just pull the net up by hand and get the ball out again.

Warming up at Aldwickbury on Friday, one of my shots hit a horizontal piece of wood at the top, bounced back to me and I caught it!

If your club used another ISV you could not get on to HDID.

We see sending the results as the ‘completion’ of the Open for participants. We send a complete results list, stating who won what prize/amount and which club they from. We also send marketing information to every organiser of the team with information of next year’s Opens.
If that doesn’t happen, it shows a poor attitude to the entrants and a lost marketing opportunity.
I take quite a bit of pride, when manning the registration desk, from being told ‘We like coming here, it’s a great course and really good organisation’.

Won a couple of sleeves of balls at a recent club comp. Picked them up yesterday, only to find they are NUFC branded.

I guess it could have been worse, could have been a Mackem who won them.

Saturday i played in the first qualifier of the year (last one was mid October) a very tough day, mud balls and bare patches took their toll on most of us. the competitions and handicap committee made the decision preferred lies rule was to be lifted a few weeks back.
Read the room chaps, or at least look out the window, you'd have noticed the heavy rain....
Although on the other side of the coin its the same for everyone

Yup, it would have flown onto the putting green behind me if I hadn't have caught it.

Which club? If it's 'near Hull' then I might have played one of your opens; or put it on my list for the future.
