Golf Random Irritations

Need to change two of the spikes on my shoes and I can't find the little two-prong tool for screwing the new ones in. It's not with the spare spikes or the remover. Where the bloody hell would I have put it?? I swear something disappears like this every week in our house. Sick of it!

Some types of pitch repair tools have two prongs on the end which are for spike removal/tightening.

So someone checks that for all GP cards entered via a terminal, they are physically submitted and signed by a marker? Or just some random checks as and when, if at all.
What about using a terminal at an away club for a GP score? How is that attested, by taking the physical scorecard back to the home club?

Where I play the cards have to go to the office if the PSI screen has been used.

When it comes to checking our county advisor said that only a random sample need to be checked for scores , I do not know about signatures.

On the subject of EG, I can’t get into the app at the moment, just constantly loading. When I do get in I can’t see my scores. Anyone else having similar?

Yeah. The MyEG App was incredibly slow yesterday. Was even worse those morning. After about 20mins,finally managed to register round, but I then gave up with it during the round. It was horrifically slow. My mate couldn't register at all.

Now I have finished, seemed to work fine, so was able to enter scores normally.

Tho one of the guys behind me had just moaned about it. He persevered and was entering scores during round. But now he has finished, it has given him 18 zeros

Our Saturday group slowly dwindling as we all get older. Loosing another 2 in April when renewals due.
At one time we set a limit of 24 players these days we sometimes have as few as 8.

All a bit moot soon as EG have said that GP won’t be able to be entered from ISVs from 1st July only via the EG App and I assume directly manually by the club into the portal.

EG will need to up their game then as their App has been a mess for the last 3 days

Agree wholeheartedly. My heart sinks when I see that this is the comp. Luckily we only have a couple a year. I don’t mind the format, in fact I play it when I’m on my own. But the fact it’s a qualifier is ridiculous. It’s essentially match play.

Agree wholeheartedly. My heart sinks when I see that this is the comp. Luckily we only have a couple a year. I don’t mind the format, in fact I play it when I’m on my own. But the fact it’s a qualifier is ridiculous. It’s essentially match play.

Agree, luckily we only have one a year and that’s a mid week competition that I usually avoid.
But we also have a 4 Ball Par /Bogey competition on one weekend, so rare that IG do not support it, and we have to do the handicapping and results manually.

Just to clarify, IG support individual bogey comps, but not four-ball bogey.

I’m with you on this I enjoy bogey format as it encourages attacking golf. But as a HC qualifier it’s a terrible idea because it goes against everything the format promotes.

4hrs 20mins as a 3ball today, course packed with a society, beginners and those who seemed like it was their first day on earth. Absolutely horrific.

Pick up my bag on the course and the strap just snaps clean off! Need to get some zip ties and have a crack at fixing it, didn't really want to spend money on a new bag right now.

I repaired this with cable ties - lasted about 9 holes today. Then the cable ties snapped while I was walking and the entire weight of the bag landed on my outstretched Achilles heel. Ouch!

New bag needed then.
