Golf Random Irritations

Pinkie and ring finger ?

I have had that for 18 months it’s a nightmare.
I have a displaced tendon in my right pinkie finger. Was supposed to have had surgery late July but it was cancelled the day before and not had a reschedule yet.

I really only played as I love playing Scotscraig but really probably shouldn't have.

Okay, here's my random irritation. So, I appreciate Rory McIlroy. I think he's an extraordinary player and means a lot for the game. But I am sooooo annoyed that whenever he plays in a DP World Tour event, when they post a Youtube video of the highlights it's usually: "Rory's day 1 at the Irish Open" - even if he's nowhere near contention. It's ridiculous. And DP World is degrading its own tour by focussing so much on a PGA Tour player whenever he tees up.

Just post highlight of every day - don't care if you mention Rory in the clickbait headline - but I want to see all the front runners.

It’s because he’s always part of the featured groups on the coverage so he’s an easy highlight reel

He’s the main draw when he plays especially in Europe

I understand why it's easy, but that's not my point. I don't care if they use his popularity to draw in viewers. But in the actual Day 1 highlight reel, I'd love to see other players too.

Yup, 10 times over
We only get 10 mins of free stuff on YT on a dpwt event each day and to have it exclusively on Rory when he deems to play over here is crazy
When he's not here we get the best shots from those filmed, when he's here it's just him for first couple of days regardless of how he plays and missing anything else done by the field

Very annoying

I can’t chip!... Well I can, but not when it matters (on the course)

I practice it 2-3 times a week for about 20-30min each time and can get the duff shots down to 20% or less. I know what the movement and swing of my good chip feels like when I execute it well but step on the course (even with no scorecard) and its much closer to a 50% duff time. First green yesterday was prime example, ball sitting up nicely for a chip of 40 paces total length, no obstacles and it'll run on nicely mown fairway so doesn't need to go more than 20 paces in the air... I hit it so thick it barely went 5 steps!

I have that fear of thinning it across the green costing 2 or more shots, so I end up chunking it instead costing me a minimum of 1 shot sometimes more. No matter how many times I see the good results in practice the ‘lesson’ doesn’t translate to my on-course play

Get a chipper.
It was designed for you.😉

Three over front nine yesterday, followed by 5 points in 5 holes and didn't make another par until the 17th & 18th. End up 12 over and one shot above getting a cut. How does the good golf just leave us so suddenly??

Yep, been there, done that, just recently level on the front nine and 6 over on the back, it really doesn't help playing a nine hole course.
