Golf Random Irritations

Still waiting on the putter I ordered .. current one is still draining putts
But as you all know something shiny and new lifts the soul .. need a little pick up at the moment.

Watched an England Under 18 lass on our putting green after she'd had her practice round for the comp 1st Rnd today. 6 balls from 3ft - maybe a little over. I watched her do about ten repetitions (no idea how many she did in total). She missed one putt. Irritation? Well only that I can't get anywhere near that consistency - but so much more a 'Golf Thing That Gladden the Heart' (y)

Some of your posts do come off a bit creepy

My Clic Gear trolley giving up the ghost after about 10 years. It must have done a few thousand miles so it has served me well.

Not sure what make to get next. Another Clic Gear or a Bag Boy Nitron ?

Kind of an irritation...
This weekend is Captain's Weekend.......play either today or tomorrow.
Booked times, bbq at the turn, bar etc etc...
And it's a qualifying Stableford.......

1. My personal preference would be for a team format that's non-qualifying like a scramb.e or a waltz or similar.
It's supposed to be a fun appreciation of the Captain's work not another fight against WHS....
2. Again my personal thought - you shouldn't really have longest drive and nearest the pin comps in a qualifier...
3. Even in a Stableford, after half a dozen holes, you can be miles away from winning and have to keep going to try and post a genuine score when you'd rather just knock it round and walk...
I'm not playing, partly because of the above, but also it's going to be too hot and too slow with nearly 280 people playing over the 2 days....
Some may disagree and that's fine...as I said, these are my preferences but whatever the Captain wants as a format is what he gets....ifmits the same next year I probably won't play it either

Also, red hot weekend, lots on and local clowns have decided to resurface the main road to the club meanoing a huge detour. No golf for me for three days

Og h and one more, Ormskirk in a mixed next sunday and wife has, we think, a slipped upper disk. Very painful. Come and goes. But it sounds like that is the problem. I've suggested wine...... 🤪

I wouldn't be a fan of that either, Captain's day should be fun

My right thumb is really sore on the left side of the knuckle - not sure if it's actually caused by golf or not, and I don't really notice it while I'm playing so I just crack on. But it hurts a lot the rest of the time. Hoping it just goes away over time... But it's been a good two or three weeks now.

Every evening I can get out to golf, I say to my son you’re welcome to join me. Every time he says no .. that’s okay.
Yesterday evening I get a text from my wife.. it’s a picture of my son swinging my 52 wedge hitting balls in the back garden. He looks good 😊.. but he doesn’t know what air balls and real balls are … so a real ball flew over the fence and I am not sure on the level of damage 😳.
I will have set up the net my has told me ..

Before the last Forum upgrade you could click on the number of replies and it gave you a break down .....doesn't seem to work now.
I'm fairly grumpy so if I'm not top 10 I want to know why!
