Ok, I get it, you struggle to infer context, let's just move on.How about just say thanks for the link but it didn’t highlight what I was looking for
Yeah so, as I've said, you missed the crucial bit of context. Was just a tongue in cheek remark back to imurg that he wouldn't need the fingers up if it was a straight putt. But the joke has been murdered now so cheers for that.Ok let’s make it simple
“
He even did the fingers.....
A 2 foot straight putt.... ”
“What are the fingers for if it was straight? Two fingers held up indicates that it's going to break that amount doesn't it?”
From the article
“Next you need to stand behind the ball and close one eye while lifting your hand so that your pointer finger is just outside the hole. Based on the percent slope you think there is affecting your putt, put up that many fingers on your hand (i.e. one finger for one percent, two fingers for two percent, etc.).
So quite clearly the player didn’t think it was a straight putt and actually had 2 percentage of slope using his feet , eyes and chart
There was no agreeing or disagreeing with you - I thought I was being helpful by positing a very simple guide which would have explained to you why he put up 2 fingers
Depends on how it’s done and when they do itAimpoint surely has to be THE biggest golf irritation!
Surely, I should have said pointless, never ending, discussions about aimpoint.Aimpoint surely has to be THE biggest golf irritation!
In Edinburgh for weekend played Prestonfield Thursday enjoyable round and was not busy Friday walked in after 14 stuck behind 4x4 balls, yesterday played Duddingston at 3.20pm where there was competition on and was pleasantly surprised how quite it was never even saw anyone in front.
Duddingston was definitely the best course of the two and really enjoyed that round.
54 hole golf trip in France, I was top of the table after day one with 34pts, I finished last overall with 70pts…..
That does form part of the excuse, yes.Late nights?![]()
My society stopped doing weekend trips after a while. The last player came off and threw his club's down in disgust on a Sunday round. After being asked what he shot and replying 103 he was informed that he actually had won. That does form part of the excuse, yes.
