Golf Random Irritations

Played Stoneham yesterday on a courtesy…it is a very interesting track, and was in very nice condition (green complexes and aprons especially), and got a lovely welcome by the starter/marshall - but with so many ups and downs and with me not having a course planner of any sort, I got really frustrated with the blind shots, runoffs, and not knowing the lie of the land ahead - played well enough, but could have been so much better. Next time (we have a reciprocal arrangement) - hopefully my memory from yesterday holds up. It is certainly an enjoyable challenge.

They don't use her enough do they? Was she ever in the commentary box over the weekend? Seemed like they just went to her for a little 3 minute segment once every hour or so. Under-utilised.
They should put McGinley there, swap the two over. That way, whenever he appears on screen you know you've got time to go and get a cup of tea or another beer and not miss anything of value

I live and play golf in SW France.Spring has seen a lot of rain. For weeks, bunkers have been partially or completely full of water and we have seen an extraordinary rate of growth. The staff have struggled to keep up. My son lives in god's own county and every time we talk he waxes lyrical about the ongoing beautiful weather. This culminated in the announcement of a Yorkshire drought!

It always staggers me that Yorkshire gets droughts. I know there are many large urban areas but blimey, you've got the Pennines creating water on tap. If they don't have enough reservoirs, that really is negligence.

yeah shame she’s a great presenter as well but no chance they’ll drop handsome Nick for any of that time

The very odd thing about the Pennines in Derbyshire which borders South Yorkshire/ Sheffield. There is not a single natural lake in the Pennines region. All are man made. 😳😳 not sure where the first natural lake going north in the Pennines is. Woodhead which has about 4 reservoirs going towards Manchester is looking very grim. There has been a bit of a kerfuffle because the water companies are being told to build more reservoirs because of increased water usage.

Played Tuesday and Wednesday this week, been on a really bad run of form so just went out for a knock with mates. Both days I shot the same score which has a nett dif of 2.0 so if I'd put cards in I would have been cut 0.75 Typical

Paired with fella playing "left handed" in today's comp. There is literally no need for it, it just looks stupid and puts everyone else off.
I swing the normal way and feel my right hand controls the swing. My mate feels the left hand controls it. No reason the play backwards.
I like watching left handers play - no idea what it is but it just looks more elegant/"swaggy".

The other week, I did play with a very good right hander who putted left handed - it was a bit of a surprise on the 1st green, as I thought he was setting up to putt away from the hole :ROFLMAO:

Not noticed with golfers but definitely get that feeling watching left-handed batsmen, they always look better for some reason.
