Golf Random Irritations

Bookings open for 26th June..my mate and I been penciling in this round for ages

Course closed for society.. wonderful

I'll see if he wants to go elsewhere

I Guess least it's only closed for 1 day. Not their fault he can only do Thursdays

I have a slightly different take on things Ken, if there are already low scores which I have no possible chance of matching i still enter the comp but not the sweeps 😉

In our comps they have the live leaderboard on the app but is only visible when you have submitted your score. How can people see the leaderboard before entering? And how is it different than walking into the club and hearing Fred say he has scored 45 points?

You can see the live scoring beforehand on our club website.

I played in a Stableford comp yesterday, I never like to check beforehand, purely because I don't care that much, but as I turned up the first thing one of my PP says is 'so and so got a hole in one and got 40 points'. It didn't affect the way I played, but certainly made me think 'damn, I've got to shoot a gross 74 to beat that'.
 
Played an Open today. There was a nearest the pin comp on a 190 yard par 3. I hit a lovely shot to about 8 feet, which was the best so far.

Dropped the card off and asked if the results would be on their website/facebook.

No was the answer.

“How will I know if I’ve won?” I asked. “If you’ve won, you will get an email.”

Honestly, what’s so hard about publishing results?
 
Off to Cyprus next month, was going to book a round at place we're staying, thought I'd ask if the boy could sit in the buggy with me. No spectators allowed. I'll guess it's so they can sell the other seat to someone else.

Tell them he’s your caddy.
If you’ve paid for the buggy they can’t sell half of it to someone else.

I've read it on the website and it's worded, "your green fee includes a seat on a buggy."

Think they're covering themselves if it's buggy and they pair groups up. Literally the whole day is free at the moment, hoping if I get a twilight round, they won't care if there's loads of space.
