Golf Random Irritations

More likely just how the Playing Handicap is worked out. Most higher handicap players have a PH higher than their Handicap Index -I do and am only a 20 handicapper. Nothing to report about conspiracy theories.
At my club, for ladies scorecard, Par 71, CR 72.1, SR 128

((54 x 128/113) + 1.2) x 0.95 = 59.2 rounded to 59 shots

252 yard par 3s.
Totally unimaginative… that yardage could be a par 4 with a horrible small green and some tight traps to penalise the long hitters .. you could even force an iron off the tee with some creative fairway enhancement… scrub, sand , quilting or just knee high rough ..

A lady winning our mixed monthly medal with a net score of 63. Well played. Gross score was 120 with a h/c of 57.
Similar situation at ours but Lady was off a good HCP of 11… just the red tees vs Men’s whites are definitely not the same, irrespective of the course index.
I don’t think we should be playing mixed - women by all means play but they should not be in the mens divisions. It’s not sexist … it’s fair.

Already getting ludicrous bounces and bald spots due to cutting and lack of rain.
Just makes it all unpredictable- played a gap wedge full bore into 160 yards , cut across it when it landed it bounced 20ft in the air and rolled out off the green and into the bunker .. without the bunker it could gone 230yards ! Play the same shot again and land softly within 6 ft of its landing zone … difference was there was a hidden sprinkler on the 2nd shot and it’s all lush around it because the water runs down and collects 🤯.. but despite 10yrs of membership this is random still as you don’t know the sprinkler schedule

Has the same at Oakland Park on Saturday. I rolled through so many fairways into trees and fairway bunkers because said fairways were like marble.

We recently had some EV charging points installed at the club. Didn't cost the club anything and we get a cut of the rent (or something). Turns out the charging company have just installed a camera for the bays and not informed the club. Only came to light when members started getting £100 'fines' for parking in the bays with non EVs. Car park is not massive so the 8 or so EV bays need to be used. The club has since covered up the camera and contacted the firm to get it removed. They are also supporting those members who have been charged to get the charge rescinded. Good work by the club but very bad from the EV charging company - don't know who it is before people ask.

Wow. I've never seen that ever. It's good to see in a broader way that the cameras are going in and enforcing, about time. However in this situation doesn't sound needed.. unless ofc part of the deal is the chargers appear online and the public can use them meaning they will lose money if blocked. That's what we are looking at when they replace ours to have open to the public who will come use the clubhouse whilst the cars charge.

One thing I'm a firm believer of is that the spaces should be tucked away in the less popular spots . So people don't want to use them useless needed. Ours are out of the way and nobody parks in them unless using

One question that does need asking is are the slots available to the general public? If yes they need to let members know and be aware not to use them. Probably a sensitive point but is the arrangement with the company a land lease, if yes the parking spots are actually their's and not the clubs.

It does sound like the club haven't understood the contract they have entered, if someone is installing them for free they will want a return and like you say those spaces will be their property

Sounds like someone at the club has mucked up
