Golf Random Irritations

It's quite amazing the variety of pro shops and what they stock

Ours has zero food or drink, very few clubs (plenty can be ordered) and lots and lots of club branded clothing
Opens at 6am daily which is good

Playing WGT I’m a “master” drawn against a hack.

Don’t normally get drawn against them in my divisions

If giving 120 yards on a 370 yard par 4 wasn’t bad enough, he gets 8 ft gimmies.

Got flipping slaughtered, despite me getting 3 pars

Hurumph 😬
No sympathy here Mr Sombrero...... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Now you know what it feels like....

If your Mrs ever does her nails borrow the nail varnish remover. Acetone is amazing for removing sticky labels and leaving zero residue.
Acetone is a pretty powerful solvent. I'd guess it might possibly damage a graphite shaft?

Another thing that's good for removing sticky residues is WD40, which is just a light oil.

You’re not pouring it on and soaking it. Literally a dab and immediate wipe of then rinse with water no residue no damage.

Edit: even a quick google says ,

Acetone on Graphite Shafts
  • Safety to Graphite: Acetone does not harm the base graphite composite material itself, as the epoxy that binds the carbon fibers is resistant to short exposure.

Did you find the Mat within 3 minutes or did you have to use a provisional? 😂

The guy concerned is famously absent minded and this goes on a long rap sheet.

The 3 min joke was deployed and got an old fashioned reply. It was such a slow round, we'd caught the game in front by the time they'd reached the next green.

Ok, good to hear it's not going to cause any damage. I was only wondering if it was a possibility, and suggesting an alternative.

With the phenomenal inaccuracy of the last week's weather forecasts, with it showing sun a lightish winds and no rain, I'm going to golf this morning prepared for the unannounced arrival of Hurricane Idiot.....

Personally acetone is something I would steer clear off in a lot of circumstances. It can remove things you do not want to be removed, particularly when such labels are often the near the hosel.

I once used a sticky stuff dissolver on old grip tape when prepping for regripping and removed all the silk screening on the shaft labels.

I just use weak white spirit.

Use a hairdryer .
Just warm it up it comes off no problem.
Then just rub with white spirit if any residue is left on the shaft.
