Golf Random Irritations

It's nearly always the seniors. They seem to believe that letting someone through is an insult to their manhood.

Also, contrary to popular myth, I've very rarely been held up by women golfers, they generally seem very considerate / aware.
As a senior and someone with over 50 years experience of club golf I can assure you that those guilty of holding up others come from all age groups and both genders.

Yes some of my fellow seniors can be the culprits but so too can the thirty and forty somethings who even when just having a knock with friends have to go through their endless PSR's and Aimpoint putts.

Slugs come in all shapes and sizes.

Club championship this weekend and for the third year running it looks like we will be playing in wind that is once again going to be gusting to +35 mph. To make this year even worse there is also a chance that there will be rain to accompany the wind ☹️

Got wet today playing in an open. Cold and wet. I'm largely irritated with myself as I got my gear all wrong and then didn't have spares to change into. I ended up driving home in a sleeveless golf top as it was the only dry top I had. I looked like a rubbish Aussie Rules fan 😞
Maybe you don't have the body to look like an Aussie.....:ROFLMAO:

Last couple of years we have gone away as a swindle late March , Early April and been caught by rains and flooded courses

This year we decided to go away in June

And yep this Saturday -

😂😂😂

And the April was dry as a bone

Well the wind never really showed up, 2 clubs at the most but jeez did it rain. It’s played in handicap order and you can play am or pm. I opted for pm. The best score in the am was a 69 (1 under) from our best player, a +2 guy. Next best was a 76. They had no rain and very little wind.
I tee off in the first afternoon 3 ball at 12 o’clock. All is going well and after 8 holes I’m 1 under without dropping a shot. Then it started to rain. Good tee shot up 9 but by the time we get to our balls it is raining heavily. Second shot I have a damp grip and I hit it sideways into the trees which results in a bogey. Par 10 and then go OOB from tee shots on 11 and 12, resulting in a double and a triple respectively 😢. Then I birdie 13 and 14 to get back to 3 over. Two more pars and we are all on the 17th green with makeable putts for birdie. By now the rain is biblical and the greens are unplayable. We mark our balls and walk in. The decision is then made to abandon the round and reschedule the 36 holes for a weekend in July. I was nailed on for the seniors scratch (18 holes only for this) as the scores from the morning seniors were all +10 or more, and I would have more than likely had the second or third best score today and a spot in the final group tomorrow. 🤬ing weather.

4 of us use our clubs reciprocal arrangements for a 2 round 1 night away trip each year, we've booked the hotel in the village and asked our office to try and get us 2 times, one on each of their courses. Day 1 time is booked no bother but we have to wait until the next day for the 2nd time as they will only book 7 days in advance, day 2 we're told that we can't get a time as it's fully booked. Could they not have been a wee bit helpful and maybe just for once book both times on day 1, after all our office told them we were looking to play both days, no we can't do that I'm afraid. Thankfully we managed to cancel the hotel and took our business somewhere else (and had a great trip)
Was that Blairgowrie Ali?
