Golf Random Irritations

You need to find the spot in the arm where the pain is & massage it quite hard with 2 fingers several times a day for about 10 seconds to try & break up the inflammation - if you are doing it properly, it will hurt.
I had tennis elbow for ages (tells you everything about my golf swing) and my physio told me to do that - it will get better
This. 👍 To find my painful spot I put my arm on a worktop with the palm face down. I then tried to lift only my ring finger but apply pressure to stop it from lifting with your other hand. The pain sweet lord.
Also I had some dumbbells at work and I used to sit with my arm on the arm of a chair and raise and lower the dumbbell with just my wrist moving up and down. Both palm down and then palm up. A guy I knew a couple of years earlier went through the same condition, but could not be bothered to do the exercises. He ended up having surgery.

I was shown something similar by a physio, hand on a table and just used a full can of veg.

The other exercise (long ago so memory not sure of precise movement) involved standing in doorway with the upper arm and elbow locked against the frame and moving the lower arm up and down.

Played a hole today that was meant to be a 245 yard par 4. The flag looked a lot nearer but I decided to trust it and hit a 3 wood to leave myself an easy chip on.

Turns out it was a lot nearer, it was a bloody temporary green at around 140 which nobody told us in the pro shop or with any signs anywhere. I'd hit 60 yards through the back of it.

I mean if you wouldnt be so tight and buy a cheap £50 laser this all could be avoided 😂

I reckon I could tell that a flag that’s supposed to be 245 away was not that far away if it was only 140 away without a laser.
I don't have that level of depth perception. I knew it looked less than 245, but I figured I'd just hit one about 200 and be just through the back at worst. So I was only 50 odd yards out. 😂

The coverage of the Zurich Classic this week. Every time I've tried to watch, it's been adverts, or an interview, or a studio section. Or a recap of Shane and Rory from last year. I'm rooting for them, but there's only so many times I can sit through that.

I'd not watched any today, so I had it recorded. I whizzed through to try and watch Rory and Shane, and it took me less than half an hour to catch up. There was a 45 minute period where they were showing the LPGA instead. There was a 15 minute period where the only shot of Rory and Shane was them walking through a car park. By hole 11, we'd seen one of Rory's tee shots, despite the commentary team waxing lyrical about how it's a weapon all week.

I believe the women's golf is a major this week? So I can understand them showing some of that. But I remember the Zurich being good fun to watch last year and this year it's been terrible!

It was summed up when I turned on yesterday to see Henni in the studio talking about how many ways there were to watch the golf - red button this, red button that. The irony - how about just putting it on the telly?!

Oh, and when I caved and pressed the red button, the descriptions of each item were all mixed up. 🙄 SHOW ME SOME GOLF! 😂

Played in a mixed pairs comp today. The lady in the other pair insisted on flag in for EVERY putt, even 6 inch tap ins. Was absolutely doing my head in by the end of the round.

Please tell us that she missed some of those tap ins 🤣

PS. Have you noticed how Charley Hull has the flag in all the time but takes it out for tap ins? Where's the logic in that?

Playing very inconsistently for me and making 4 no score holes on the way to a 31. Net pars and all of those enough to have won the roll up money and still wondering on two of the holes what exactly happened. Seemed to get away in a heartbeat

Supposed to play this sunday and blew out yet again. no enthusiasm to play at all. seriously thinking of just packing in completely and selling all my gear

There was only 1 'bounce out' all day. A guy putted up close from long range (flag left in) and went to tap in from 12 inches to get out the way so she could putt. He didn't take the flag out because he knew she would want it back in again. Hit the flag square on at a sensible tap in pace and it bounced out. That guy......ME!!!!

The logic is that statistics may show that leaving the flag in for long putts is more likely to help than hinder.
She might feel it off putting when tapping in.

Horrible, niggly hand injuries.

Managed to displace a tendon in a finger on my right hand that means I can’t grip anything properly.

Stupidly tried a finger splint when swinging and just made matters worse.

Oh and it’s bloody painful.

Going to the club to work on my swing after a busy shift and I should know by now working on the full swing on a week day doesn't work for me. Tempo and swing all over the shop. At least the 19th was a good evening
