Any advice/recommendations for golf near Chester..? Weekend away for the boys (hopefully 8 of us) towards end of August and staying in Chester centre. Thanks

Some time back played Carden Park and The Portal... both 36 hole venues and both close to Chester.
The Wirral as mentioned is worth the extra miles too! Depending on your budget and requirements!

Chester golf club is within walking distance of the centre of town. I've not played it, so can't recommend, but if it's convenience you're after it'd be tough to beat.

I’ve played a few times at Aldersey Green golf club. It’s a lovely little place out of the way

Not the cheapest but not that far away. Wallasey & Hoylake. Many say Wallasey is the better course. Caldy & Heswall the best and dearest of the rest (and nearer). In contrast Chester is a nice parkland course between the racecourse and the River Dee

Chester and Vicars Cross are both pretty nice and near the city. Carden Park is fine (prefer the Cheshire).
If budget and travel no issue then Wallasey, Royal Liverpool & Caldy are a league above (and Leasowe & Prenton are fun).

Upton-by-Chester used to be A decent track, Curzon Park aka Chester golf club is nice.
Vicars Cross is a nice corse too all pretty much £35per round.

Depends on your budget but we've stayed at Carden, Portal and Hill Valley. All resort type course but both courses at Carden we thought were really good.

Hi, now budget as such but was thinking around £25 per round, we will look to play around lunchtime/early afternoon. Happy to pay a bit more for good courses.
