2026 golf trips

Try the Fairmont courses?
And the Strathtyrum course is a great warmup.
Thanks, I've just had a look at those, are they really worth the £180? Pretty much half what we've paid for the 3 at St Andrews.

I tried to get on the Strath but it's book 24 hours before unfortunately, won't let me book this far out.

Was going to start a new thread and found this one.

We've booked the 54 hole package at St Andrews for next June, Castle Jubillee and Eden over 3 days.

I need some help, our Saturday round isn't until 15.30, none of the other St Andrews courses let you book this far in advance, is there anywhere else I should be considering for a round in the morning and will let me book?
You must go to either Anstruther (9 holes) or Kinghorn (short, Old, fun 18 hole). You will have a blast at either place. For Kinghorn, I recommend just taking a half set and playing some form of matchplay. The greenfee is around 22 quid

Oh, and just crossed my mind: Scotscraig is just 20 min driver from St Andrews and is supposed to be very very good. I have never played there but I would love to.

about a dozen from my society going down to West Bay, Dorset in July

Playing :
Bridport & West Dorset
Lyme Regis
Salisbury & South Wilts on the way home

Nice little break

Got a Sunday/Monday in Peterborough at the end of March (twelve of us). We're playing Nene Park and Orton Meadows. The bloke organising it says they're both ropey but it's very cheap! 😁
In August, we also have twelve going to the Dales Golf Festival to play Bedale, Richmond and Catterick. It'll be our third time there, good courses and great value.

Abu Dhabi in February, Agadir in April (think we are now over Marrakech), Tavira with the boys again in June and El Rompido in Spain in September with our usual big mixed group. Hope to get to Bologna sometime and maybe some pre Christmas sun.
Also will be doing more overnighters or 2 nighters in the UK as missed out on doing them last year.
Interested to know what was wrong with Marrakesh?

Nothing wrong at all, we went there just after COVID and have been back 3 times staying mainly at the Fairmont Royal Palm but also at a couple of boutique hotels all of which were unbelievably good.
It’s just that we have played almost all the courses and our favourites a few times.
We’ve always enjoyed it but this is probably the most we have been back to any smallish place and we enjoy exploring new course and areas.

I think if you stay at a Kingask letting place, there's a significant discount on the Fairmont courses.

Scotland in May. Dumfries and County, Powfoot and Southerness

Spain in July, looking to play Las Ramblas, La Finca, and possibly Vistabella - bit of a trip down memory lane from when we lived over there.

Drumoig

Do they let you book in advance on the Dukes (can't remember the new name!) now that the Links Trust have taken it on?

You’d probably be able to book the craighead at Crail, if it’s a Saturday the balcomie will have a medal on.
Alot better there than the two at the fairmont that’s been mentioned.

Fairhaven, Sandiway, Hesketh , Moortown booked as individual rounds. Still got lads golf trip to sort. Also, a mini tour in early August is in my head but nothing sorted yet

Potentially looking at Stoke-by-Nayland for our golf trip this year. Heard it's a nice venue.
I played and stayed there about 10ish years ago.
I would say it’s decent enough without being stand out.

I don’t remember much about it but also I would remember if we didn’t like it.

It had a couple of decent holes and think the last on each course was nice.

Just 4 of us on a bit of a cheapy night away with a couple of rounds.
We all enjoyed it but not somewhere we ever returned to.

Should be fine for us, we don't go for the top of the top as we try and keep costs down. This is actually a little more expensive than the previous trips we've done - two rounds of golf, one night in hotel plus breakfast and dinner is £260 for the single-roomers. Last year we paid a fair bit less to go to the Cotswolds Club, but the food wasn't great and the course left a bit to be desired.
