Golf is Saved!

Having had previous interactions with the government, now they are involved with golf I am officially worried. What happened to the old cliche " keep politics out of sport".

Sadly this wont help Blue Mountain GC . Construction starts on the BM site in April this year and theres nothing anybody can do about it. :(

The situation is quite a bit different with Basingstoke GC, I believe the members there have voted in favour to sell up to developers. I think the members get a new course on another plot and probably a cash windfall each as part of the deal.

Sad times. Maybe we should arrange a goodbye forum meet one day there before the wrecking ball arrives?

Plans look pretty good actually - still loads of green space round there and loads of (better) places to play golf too!

Yeah pretty good but not for BM members lol. :D

The green space to the left of the school where the driving range is currently situated is apparently difficult to develop so houses are not expected to go there. Bracknell football club were going to build a new stadium on the range but they pulled out as they did not have all the space there that they were promised.

It will only be a matter of time before the holes/green space on the far right of the plans will be swallowed up, probably Phase 2 in years to come.

You are right though there are a number of alternative and better courses to move to but none quite as convenient as BM unfortunately.
