Having seen numerous magazine ads and given it some thought, I still can't figure it out.
If I have England Golf membership with my club membership, I have their £10M public liability injury/damage cover. Home and car insurance cover the clubs at home and in the car. The claim limit for a hole in one bar bill is only £150.
Why would I need a separate, specialist golf insurance policy?

I use Golf Care. Really cheap cover, get 12 Srixon AD333 for signing up and you also get 3 free rounds to use with notable courses being Celtic Manor, Shrigley Hall, The Belfry etc. So it’s worth subscribing just for those perks alone.

There’s different levels available depending on what cover you require. Please feel free to use the discount code below and it’ll also help me get 12 free balls too, win win!

I get third party liability cover via England Golf, theft cover for clubs via household insurance, and HIO cover through club membership. I can live without whatever else is included in specialist "golf cover", so no, I'm probably not bothering in future.

:ROFLMAO: Hole in one bar bill insurance - I've heard it all now!
In the past people would buy everyone in the bar a drink. Could be scary. Now people tend to buy a bottle of spirits and put it on the bar so no need for this anymore.

In answer to the original question, I'm in the same boat. Since the EG liability insurance came out I don't really see the point of having a standalone policy. Looking at one we'll known company my clubs don't qualify to be replaced anyway as they are too old ☹

I must admit I have separate golf insurance which covers me when I am abroad and also covers my clubs in the car, not only when travelling to and from the golf club, so I can leave my clubs in the car all the time. If my clubs, or any other golf equipment is stolen, then the policy is 'New For Old' which saves any shortfall if I have to replace anything. My house insurance does cover specified items when out of the house, but nowhere near the cover from dedicated golf insurance.

I knew a bloke who had specialist golf insurance. He approached them when his clubs were stolen and was questioned about his household insurance. When he confirmed that he did indeed have contents insurance, he was advised to claim off them.

Played with an investment banker at a top London company the other week. He was not a good golfer, it very much surprised me when he mentioned his hole in one insurance. I mean, he clearly didn’t need the cover from a financial, or golfing perspective ?

I have a separate policy. After 2 hole in one's it would pay if I got another ! My clubs are covered new for old, here and abroad, and I have personal injury as well as cover for anything I may do. Costs about £35 and I wouldn't have to claim on my house insurance and end up with jacked up premiums for a claim

Shouldn't your cover be new for nearly new ?

The bits not covered by our club cover and England Golf I have covered by my house contents insurance.

We have a simple system for a hole in one where I play -

If it is in a official club comp they pay and are insured for it.

If it is social play we have a bottle or two placed on the bar which we replace.

EG is 2 million 3rd party however they don’t cover claims of under £500.

I have additional cover with Golf Care this year which was a good deal but, like other insurance, I have been told they increase the premium in the next year.

That is very rare particularly for overnight.
