To make sure I'm not sounding completely stupid - Once I've registered and England Golf have found me and given me a membership ID etc etc, I'm automatically registered for the insurance? I don't have to do anything extra?

Haha I have this same question. I’m already registered for England Golf but see nothing to activate this so I guess you are automatically opted in ?

That's the way I see it.

As a member of England Golf you receive £10m personal liability insurance.
This benefit is part of your affiliation and is provided by England Golf, working with specialist insurance broker Bluefin Sport. The insurance is underwritten by Allianz.

Liability insurance protection.
As an individual member of England Golf, you are covered for personal liability in the event that you are found to be negligent for causing injury to another person or damage to third party property whilst playing or practicing (sic) golf at any golf club or recognised practice facility in the UK, Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man.

My golf cubs don’t live in my house, and for them to be covered they have to spend the majority of their resting time in the house. They also wouldn’t be covered in my car, whereas my golf insurance covers all of that.

I phoned one of the major well advertised golf insurers to discuss what is covered and where and they stated my clubs etc would not be covered when they were in locker at the golf club.

My house insurers on the other hand confirmed they would be and they would also be covered whilst in the car providing they were out of sight.

I have insurance with Carrick Neil and I have to pay for coverage of my clubs when I store them in my locker (usually Monday-Friday in the summer so worth it from piece of mind, especially with the door going a little although we've only had a tiny number of lockers broken into in the whole time I've been there and touch wood none for a while). I am not covered if I leave them outside either by the patio, front door or in the space by the pro shop. As soon as I finish playing/practicing they go in the locker
