Golf in continuous rain

Wearing specs is my biggest problem in the rain, as you end up with very blurred vision looking through the raindrops on them. If I know it's going to rain I wear contact lens, but weather forecasts can be wrong!

Can you not just play in contacts all the time.

I've recently been prescribed a set of windscreens and I'm already looking at contacts just for golf

As has already been said rain gloves are superb and well worth the couple of quid they cost. I have had mine for years now.

Getting your admin sorted and know what your doing when it rains will help. Then learn to embrace the rain and get on with it.

I play golf in contact lenses, these help massively in the wet obviously. I find them a lot better in the dry as well though.

Agree with most of previous, mac wets, GG waterproofs etc, however, best thing I've ever invested in for rainy days, SEALSKINZ Socks, guaranteed warm dry feet, no matter how much it rains, greatest invention ever , imo of course
Sealskinz socks are brilliant. You can go in water over your shoes & your feet feel cold & wet for a couple of minutes. Then the water in your shoes warm up & for the rest of the round your feet are cosy & bone dry.

Trouble is that I'm developing cataracts, and I am advised to wear tinted glasses with an anti-UV coating when I am out of doors. OK I can wear sunglasses with contacts, but that is more hassle than just wearing reaction specs. I limit my use of contacts to very wet and very dull days.

Any particular rain glove folk are recommending? I have decided to get a set myself but wondered if there is much difference in them....

Macwet or footjoy.

Be warned though. Dry them by laying flat on newspaper and not near direct heat. and don't leave them in you bag or they get crusty and smelly.

I think this has been covered. Although I normally pad my socks and shoes with talcum powder to absorb any water also makes your feet smell nice and soft.

Waterproof socks, plenty of spare towels and gloves. I tend to keep a towel under the brolly to dry hands and grips and leave it attached to the trolly and let the waterproofs do their job. I wear glasses and so a cap is vital for me to try and keep as much off the specs as I can. Patience, more club and a positive attitude help as most in the field are already beaten going out in torrential rain with their negative thoughts, blaming the conditions when they hit a bad shot
