Speaking as a proud midlander I wish to object to this post that portrays us midlanders as a bunch of travel shy fops who regard anything south of the Watford Gap as being full of humourless shandy drinking southerners who pay £5 a pint. Which it is, but that's not the point.

Living in the outskirts of Nottingham as I do, I for one would be more than willing to travel to such far flung places such as the other side of Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and even Birmingham (well the north of Birmingham anyway) for such an opportunity. So please do not tar us all with the same brush.

Thery have this at the Downshire in Bracknell where I have my lessons. Only used the range to warm up prior to lessons and not the 60-60 app but it does look a fun way to practice. Anything that can add variety and stop you just standing and bashing away has to be a good thing. Sadly I can't make the date but I'm sure the chosen few will have a good time

My local range has installed all this, and the earlier observation 'it makes it look busy' is spot on.

If you want to attract groups to 'play the range', preferably one with a bar......., then it's excellent (and fits in well with a 10 pin bowling atmosphere)

I also agree that it can help with focused practice, for those that struggle with a few yardage markers.

However I now go elsewhere because I go to a range to quietly work rather than practice my concentration skills when so much is happening around me!
