Played a steady round in the wet, and the wind had dropped!

Bogey comp and I finished on +2 but, more important, I was three under handicap so if CSS = SSS I should be down to 11.9 now, a new low for me!

Just had a friendly knock today. Left the clubhouse to some very odd looks as it was raining steadily, and continued unabated for our entire round. To say I got drenched would be an understatement.

But I knocked it round 8 over gross, struck the ball better than I have in a while, and if it had not been for a silly double at the last I'd have come home level par for the first time in a couple of years.

Fair weather golfer? Moi? Never!

I was 6 over after 13 holes, all in the rain including 2 nice birdies. The rain stopped and I then played the last 5 holes in 7 over ! Maybe I've found my niche at last !

I started playing with a very easy swing as my grips were wet and a bit slippery alomst from the off and I kept that swing for the rest of the round, I should learn something from this but will probably be trying to leather it again next week...

I could have scored even better but a poor tee shot on the last put me in the trees and led to a double bogey 7. :(

Were you two shots "up" on the course?

Two holes up, bogey comp is like playing matchplay against the course par, a net par is a half, a net bogey or worse is a loss, a net birdie or better is a win.
