Don't panic if you are held up in traffic. Its very free-and-easy at my club - we will tee off when we are ready - it won't be busy at that time.
Similarly we could tee off early, if we are all there.

Coming from the south, you need to go past Leicester Forest East Services, keep in the left lane and peel off on the A46.
Head for Barkby. Go through centre of Barkby and turn right at Beeby.

Na! I went last year from South Wales, and I was in E Lothian last weekend... although not on a day trip

Played this morning. Some fairways getting some small parched areas. Loads of run on the fairways and greens still fairly soft, but fast to putt on.

Its going to be f. warm. (That's fairly warm )

I have a friend who would probably be willing to drive up from Essex for a round. He has annual leave to use and enjoys long journeys for golf.

Back from this. Nice layout, lovely rolling greens , kind of old school vibe but also welcoming. Friendly fourball and our host guiding us around & showing us how he regularly takes the 2s pot!
Should similar offer arise in the future would recommend to other forummers
We just about coped with the heat.
However if there are reports of someone in golf attire tucking into a tub of ice cream near the charge points at Sainsbury's - I cannot confirm or deny!
