Left my lovely Vokey SM4 58 degree wedge on either our 3rd or 4th on Sunday. Took it out the bag with the putter as i walked to the green, decided i could putt and left the wedge sat there....

Not happy at all.

No bugger has handed it in either.....

Question to the floor

Seen any good wedge deals around?

I (did) have 50, 54 and 58 degree. I never really used the 54 to be honest, so was thinking of flogging mine and just buying a 50 and 58 degree.

Saw some cheap Mackdaddy, Clevelands RTX's and cheap Wilson staff fg ones knocking around (circa 50-60 quid a pop)

Not looking to break the bank and more than happy to play a model a few years old. Quite fancy buying new though with it being a wedge.

Sorry to hear that and can't believe no one handed it in - that's cold! Try the Benross ZipIt wedges supposed to great value for money and a cracking club

Yeah

Only have myself to blame, but still.......

Had a look at the Benross and they are pretty darn cheap at 30 a pop. Must admit i prefer the more cleaner / traditional look of a Vokey / 588 style wedge

You might still get it back. Could be someones put it in their bag and forgotten to hand it in before they left the course. Happened to a friend a few weeks ago. She got it back a couple of weeks later.

I've got 2 Cleveland RTX 2.0 wedges sat at home. 52 and 58 degree. Only bought them last week, but decided to stick with the Cobras. You can try them if you want?

Fingers crossed yeah

The changing rooms are usually full of lost gear waiting to be collected.

I do have a suspicion that a nice lob wedge would be more desirable than a single iron from a set though.

I am going to wait a few days just to see and just chuck my old 60 MD Seve wedge in the bag for tomorrow

I almost lost a wedge that way but a good tip is to always place your wedge on top of the flag whilst it is lying on the green. That way you or your fellow golfers will always see it when putting the flag back in.

Cheers Danny

your worse than me for buying new gear ha

Question, can you bend wedges easily? reason i ask is that the 52 "might" leave a big gap between by PW. That Adams XTD PW thing goes silly distances and my 50 degree SM$ filled the gap quite nicely.

Still the 588 is love'erly......

I'm fairly certain you can bend up to 3 degrees with forged heads. You're more than welcome to pop round and pick them up, try them for a few rounds.

Will that affect bounce though?

im very sensitive to +/- 1 degree of bounce in my wedges you see........;)

RTX 588's in black pearl are gorgeous though. I love my new 52 and 56. BTW the 56 feels more open that it's loft suggests, might be worth a look rather than the 58.

As mentioned before some one may have picked it up and forgot about it being in their bag. It's shocking if it's anything other than that.
Have you thought about asking your clubs secretary to email the members asking if it's been found and some one has "possibly forgot to hand it in"
This happened at my club and the lost GPS turned up in the changing room the next day.

I had this happen at Highwoods GC. Left my 9 iron (I think it was) by the side of a fairway bunker, didn't realise until I got home. Phoned the pro shop the following day, hadn't been handed in but was told to wait a few days by the pro.
All in all I must have waited a couple of weeks, and was just about to pull the trigger on buying a new one when I got a call from the pro who told me that the iron had finally been handed over.
Turned out it was somebody who had been playing in the same comp as me had put it in his bag, forgotten about it that day and had been unable to hand it back over straight away as he had flown out to America the following morning on a 10 day trip. He handed it back in as soon as he got home.
I'd give it at least another week or two unless you can't live without it.

This happened to me about two months ago at Prestwich GC, and I have since said my emotional farewells to my sand wedge and acquired a new hand me down! Exact same thing. Took out the SW and putter for a greenside chip out of some fluffy rough then a stab at the hole. Walked off without the SW and didn't notice until cleaning my clubs the next morning! Pity I was a visitor or else I feel as if more effort would have been made to reunite me with a club that had a significant bit of sentimental value attached to it.

After 3 visits back to the pro shop and multiple phone calls, nothing! A couple of wedges were handed in but both were "collected". I've a feeling my old SW is being used by someone with a less than desirable attitude or perhaps poor eyesight.

Either way, I played a cracking bunker shot out of a fairly high faced jobbie on Monday with my new blade so that has slightly softened the blow.
