Is Worcester not one of those places that floods most years? I'm sure I've seen the cricket ground underwater previously and they were pretty laid back about it as it happens quite often. Awful for people who's homes and businesses are flooded. It has a devastating impact.

My brother’s street flooded that Christmas in Carlisle while he was in Northern Ireland with our family. He had to phone a neighbour to find out how bad it was to be told the flooding had stopped about twenty yards down the street from his front door. He got VERY lucky.Sad scene, remember seeing Carlisle looking like that a few years back, so demoralising for those affected. If it happens once you kind of know it's going to repeat - 100 year events are becoming 10 or 20 year events. Your property or business becomes uninsurable or too expensive to afford cover and the value of your property plunges.
If looking at property, watercourses are about the first thing you need to research.
