Ok, so I had a very positive experience testing a 915 driver this week, and a few tweeks to driver settings and shaft type produced about 15 yards extra carry over my current club. However the results were based on shots hit with Srixon range balls. What differences could I expect using "my" ball (Pro V1x now, obviously!😁)
Just wondering if I need to get rechecked, and if so where? Cambridge?

Cheers

I was fitted at the Titleist National Fitting Centre Nr Edinburgh and you are fitted using Pro V1 or 1x

It's all about the spin, 'bout the spin. .....

If your AOA is pretty neutral then the ball isn't a big issue.

What's most intestine (to me) is the relationship between the existing shaft and the new one (giving you 15 yds) - can you please egive more details

My current driver has a Grafalloy Prolaunch stiff shaft spin was at 3500, the first shaft in the 915 was a Aldila Rogue Silver 60 and the second was the Mitsubishi Diamana S+ Blue 60, pin was down to 2200 and carry up from 240 to 255

What colour was the ProLaunch? If Blue, that would not be a surprise! If Red, then it would be a bit more of one. Though 915 is meant to be 'low spin', so would indicate a success for the designers.

IMO just go for it

Looks logical and I would expect the real world to reflect the test results.

Prolaunch Blue is High Launch and High Spin. Red is Low/Low. So the change of shaft is probably quite a contributor - Diamana Blue series is Midish flight and Mid-Lowish spin with a really nice feel(one of my favourites in fact).

As Duncan has posted, the difference means it's a no-brainer really - if you are prepared to spend on a new Driver. If you like the head of your current one, then I'd suggest you consider simply getting the shaft replaced - with the Diamana Blue, or maybe the White - for even lower spin and flight!
