Video shows him hitting a normal shot, overswinging, shaft hitting his back and snapping. Assume its a mock up but definitely implies he snapped it hitting a shot not in anger
Ah, so perfectly acceptable to repair it.

The video was actually during a tournament.Ah, so perfectly acceptable to repair it.
If he carries a spare shaft, I wonder if breaking his clubs happens a lot for him. Most people don't hit themselves on the back on their follow through! On a similar theme, do any of the gurus have a comment on this ....

I was wondering if it was legal to carry a replacement shaft, and install during the round (see this http://www.usga.org/Rule-Books/Rules-of-Golf/Decision-04/#d4-4a-15 ) .... I wonder if the rules have missed some of the new developments in shafts that can be installed so simply.
So when I came second to a FC who, in a fit of temper, wrapped his sand wedge round a tree and then tried to straighten it, he should have been DQ'd?

Quite right too , I have adjustments on my driver but have never done it , no need too ........................
Out of interest, why people buy adjustable drivers if they have no intention of ever adjusting them?![]()

Fun- remember that in golf.
Windy Links course crank it down, calm soft parkland course crank it up for more air time.
Then theres the times your swing changes for whatever reason and you want some more/less loft, or open/closed/neutral face.
I had lots of fun with the R1

I honestly think that the likes of Cobra and Nike with adjustable lofts love it for thier bottom line. For example my Cobra amp. Able to be set up as 8.5, 9.5, 9.5 D, 10.5 10.5D and 11.5. That's 6 different club with one head being made. Even if you exclude the draw settings that's a common range of lofts that would require 4 sepeate heads to be produced. Then eejits like me can play around with it until something breaks.
Exactly it, I always saw adjustable clubs as being more for the benefit of the retailer and manufacturer than the golfer. Soon those long racks of clubs will be gone and all that will be needed is one demo club for each range and a bag of shafts. Far more economical for the retailer and the manufacturer. These clubs, I assume, however, are not cheap to produce and so some benefit has to be sold to the average golfer to make him want to part with more cash than he would spend on a non adjustable model. Or maybe that is just me being cynical.

I've adjusted my TM R1. Increased the loft from 10 to 11.3 degrees, flatter lie angle and swopped the weights round to give a slight draw bias. As bought I found it difficult to get the ball airborne and tended to lose the ball a bit right. Now hit the ball really well with it.Out of interest, why people buy adjustable drivers if they have no intention of ever adjusting them?![]()
