First time for everything...

Had a double hit today. First time ever. In my first comp at my new club.
I can't even work out how I managed it. It was a straight forward wedge into the green and I smothered it left into the rough. Must have hit the top of the ball and it jumped up - not impressed.

Only scored 31 so 10.1 here I come. Highlight was the 17th(par 5) though. Glorious drive (approx 290) then 5 wood to the green and the eagle putt lagged 6 inches away. 4 nett 3 for 4 points - and boy did I need them!!

I've down it many times especially in bunkers where I haven't accelerated through and quit on the shot. The ball pops up and hits the club usually landing back in the bunker in the footprints

Forget about it Imurg...... Its water under the bridge now look forward to the weekend my dad has a philosophy he keeps repeating to me often on the course dont worry about the bad shots if we hit good one all the time we;d be on tv and even tere prone to one every now and then.
I cant wait till im off 10.1 .... Only 10 to go Down that is now just in case

Homer, you have just described my typical bunker shot.
Sometimes I miss the double hit and it lands on my head.
Then I end up hitting it out sideways.

Get yourself some football training, then if you react quick enough you could just head it out of the bunker

Happens to me on occasion from heavy rough,no big deal,dont let it get to me.

Dont worry about it imurg, i've just seen quiros fluff his 3rd shot from the greenside rough something i do every week!
