Hi all,
Fresh from my first handicap cut last week (22.5 -20.5) I broke 80 for the first time yesterday. Happy to get in under 80 for the first time, even though I dropped 4 shots on the last 4 holes.
Front 9 was the stuff of dreams, played the first 7 holes to par. Then a 3 putt on the 8th and par on the 9th got me in for a 36! Playing partners were shaking there heads and asking for the secret.
Played the back 9 in 43, for a total of 79 and 48 stableford points. After the great start, I had to really concentrate on every shot. The mental fatigue at the end was really hitting home and I was just trying to finish without a triple or a round busting 10.
Very strange to finish the round being able to recount only 4 or 5 mishits. Guess this is what it feels like for the single handicappers.
A small change to my right hand grip, made my whole swing alot more comfortable. Amazing how the slighest change can make such a big impact.
Anyway - had to share, still cant believe it.
