First Round of 2012

Teed off at 7.47am finishing at 9.49am, surprisingly not seeing another golfer on the course! Shot 2 over my handicap in damp conditions under foot. Now time for breakfast.

My first will be on Wednesday, the January medal but it's off winter tees - how I hate those horrible concrete slabs and knackered mats - but what the hey, it's a game

Same as you! First time out will be Wednesday with Smange (if the controller lets him out ) stableford mind bu as nearly every comp is stableford what odds? Full course though we don't do winter tees or greens thankfully.

i may go up with a club and hit a few,i went up yesterday with the 2 iron and went round 9 holes hitting a good few shots.

the course was very very wet but dead,it's always dead.even on a good day.

Time sorted for around half ten, that ok? With a two ball that was going out but can be changed if you want. Hopefully the weather will be allright was down on Friday and the course had a few damp spots on it but still on full greens etc and off the whites!

no golf today, the course is closed. My first round of the year is tomorrow at a course I've not played before. A good way to start the year.

Half ten is fine mate, means I dont need to leave too early

Not too worried about it being wet underfoot in the odd place, its this wind which doesnt seem to be going anywhere, quite strong again today.

Looking forward to getting a game as havent hit a ball since mid october:mmm:

Just home from a lovely 18 holes with HID. Course was quiet apart from a 4 ball in front who let us through and watched as I played the hole as well as I can - phew what a relief !

5 consecutive rounds/days of golf and feeling a bit jaded but managed to rally and just 4 over for the back 9 finishing with a nice par on the 18th. Won't play til Thursday now but perhaps the range on Wednesday.

Yes, I played the full 18 and this included a conversation with the Head Green Keeper, who was swishing the greens. Fortunately, I did not have to spend anytimetime looking for golf balls. Might even try and play the same time tomorrow.

Last shot of 2011 was holing a 40ft birdie.... enough to bring me back for more. Not sure what's on the cards for 2012, might play in a week, might be a month.

Played 13 this afternoon in tipping rain. Level par, so can't complain. Started to hit my irons a bit better, for the first time since the lesson. Got another one on Tuesday, so I am sure it won't last.

Out again tomorrow, weather permitting.

Played a 5 hole cross country at 10 this morning. Great fun and great start to the year, par 21, I shot 24 which included lipping out 2 par puts on two of the three bogey holes. First time I've done this, was very interesting having to choose shots without knowing how far you need to hit it, or without seeing where it's going.

Decided to play a second round only to be stuck behind a 6 ball (4 ladies, 2 gents), who decided that they all had to wait for the 5 ball in front of them were out of range before playing, despite clearly never going to reach them. They were waiting on every shot, took 35 mins to play one hole ( only an hour to play the whole setup first time round either same 5 ball in front). We picked up and walked in at that point.

Tee'd off at 0807 am this morning. Got through the front nine +3 with a birdie on the ninth and +6 on the back nine in horrible wet weather to shoot four under my handicap ( 13). Best round this year!!

First game off 2012 was the sunday roll up, tee`d off at just gone nine in drizzle, which then cleared up , then on the last 4 holes threw it down
In the end managed to finish with 40 points playing of 17 hc, not bad start to the year but can do better
