I played today with a 19 handicapper. started great, 27 points after 12, including a blob, then the wheels came off a little with some duff chips from us both, finished up with a respectable 34 points, the 3rd best, but it could have been so much better, good fun though.

Not bad first time out. I have to say I hate foursomes with a passion. Its our club foursomes Sunday (36 holes medal) and I'll be nowhere near the place. I can never find any rhythmn, can wait ages to play a chip, pitch or long putt and so loose all feel for the pace and just have the age old feeling of only playing half a game

Well done Louise. Foursomes is all about playing as a team, and not just concentrating on your own game.

I love foursomes, played in the West Hill Foursomes Open last week, which was a great days golf. Need a good partner on the same wave length as you, and who likes plenty of banter. Amazingly have found a couple of partners over the years, and got on the honours board for foursomes at two different clubs.

its hard to keep a smile on your face when your best drives are put into the face of a bunker or behind a tree. by your partner . Try playing in a yellowsome comp.you need a good sense of humour for that one

Well done Louise - 3rd at first try is good result. I like the format - first round of our foursomes knockout tomorrow. Play as a team, agree on first tee that there'll be no "sorries", or apologies, and away you go. One is allowed a couple of "you k*ob's" though, but never a "sorry"

Yes, I cant understand the comments good and bad for 4 somes, at one point, I hadnt play a long iron for about 6 holes, and it was frustating when she thinned a chip, but also embarrassing when I did!

Not too shabby! Our first matchplay foursomes later today, excited and nervous at once, I hope we can get off to a good start, I realise it's going to be a steep learning curve but I ain't going out to lose ;)
