Hi recently firefox keeps redirecting me to crap websites. I cannot launch malwarebytes so how can I rid my pc of what appears to be malware on it?
Cheers DB.

press F8 when starting and select safemode

Run malwarebytes,

You wont be able to connect to the net while in safe mode, so when scan finishes, restart into normal windows, open Malwarebytes and UPDATE, then do another scan

Sorry - didnt mean to be smug, it just amazes me how the hell Windoze has ever got to where it is today, considering just how unbeleivably crap it is.

Hope you get it sorted.

The mac love-in bores me. I use macs (2) and windows (3) and linux (1). They all run perfectly and I have no preference.
Everyone hates vista....I run a vista business laptop and it's better and faster than my old XP one.
Windows is fine, it's the users that are rubbish.

When I send completed projects away the final work is done on a £400 XP desktop as opposed to a £1,850 apple G5. The fact that most 5 year-old windows computers are as good as dead is because they were cheap and underspec'd in the first place. That's where apple wins hands down, but you do pay up front for the future-proofing.

Oh....and one other comment......most ready-made PCs are utter crap. Buy a plain "box" with an O.S. dvd from a proper computer builder/retailer and chances are it'll serve you well. No junk, no bloat, no norton, no free sh**, no pointless apps, no resource-hogging, no start-up boll**.

I'm doing (building from barebone) a new PC in a few weeks. I can't wait.

Sorry for teh hijack but I so agree with you Dave, I have a 5 yr old Xp beast ~ Ibuilt my self and it is sweet as a nut, Macs while good are over priced and if you spent the same money on a PC then you would have a cracking system.

Only problem with a PC IMHO is the cheap crap that is introduced like this laptops celeron chip - but then again I only wanted to spend £270 max on a laptop.

Regarding the browser problem - as stated safe mode and then run teh spyware finder - my other laptop started doing the same, but I still can't get it resolved.
